1. Qué es Droglican y para qué se utiliza

Droglican es una cápsula dura que contiene dos principios activos. Un principio activo es el condroitín

sulfato y el otro es el hidrocloruro de glucosamina. Ambos principios activos pertenecen al grupo de los

antiinflamatorios y antirreumáticos no esteroideos.

Droglican se utiliza en el tratamiento de los síntomas de la artrosis de rodilla en pacientes con dolor

moderado a grave en los que esté indicado el tratamiento combinado con condroitín sulfato y

glucosamina.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Droglican

No tome Droglican:

  • Si es alérgico (hipersensible) al condroitín sulfato, a la glucosamina o a alguno de los demás

componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

  • Si es alérgico al marisco, pues la glucosamina procede del marisco.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Droglican.

  • Si tiene alterada la tolerancia al azúcar (glucosa). Pueden ser necesarios controles más frecuentes de

los niveles de azúcar en sangre cuando se empieza el tratamiento con glucosamina.

  • Si tiene cualquier alteración del riñón o del hígado, debido a que no se han realizado estudios en este

tipo de pacientes y por tanto no pueden darse recomendaciones sobre dosificación.

  • Si padece alguna enfermedad grave del corazón. Consulte a su médico.

Niños

No se recomienda el uso de este medicamento en niños o adolescentes menores de 18 años.

Uso de Droglican con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o pudiera tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Se recomienda precaución si se administra Droglican en combinación con otros medicamentos, sobre todo con:

  • Algunos tipos de medicamentos utilizados para evitar la coagulación de la sangre (p. ej., warfarina, dicumarol, fenprocumon, acenocumarol y fluindiona). El efecto de estos medicamentos se puede potenciar si se utilizan junto con glucosamina. Por lo tanto, los pacientes tratados con estas combinaciones deben ser vigilados de forma más cuidadosa al inicio o finalización del tratamiento con glucosamina.
  • Medicamentos para tratar las infecciones (antibióticos como la tetraciclina, el cloranfenicol o la penicilina).

Toma de Droglican con alimentos y bebidas

Embarazo y lactancia

Se desconoce si los principios activos de Droglican pasan a la leche materna. Por tanto, no tome

este medicamento si está en período de lactancia, ya que no existen datos suficientes sobre la salud de su bebé.

3. Cómo tomar Droglican

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es de 2 cápsulas 3 veces al día.

Las cápsulas deben tragarse sin masticar con una cantidad suficiente de líquido.

Si toma más Droglican del que debe

Si usted ha tomado más cápsulas de las que debe, puede experimentar dolor de cabeza, vértigos,

desorientación, dolor en las articulaciones, náuseas, vómitos o diarrea, aunque es probable que no

experimente ningún síntoma. En cualquier caso, informe a su médico.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte al Servicio de Información Toxicológica teléfono

91 562 04 20 (indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida).

Si olvidó tomar Droglican

Puede tomar la dosis olvidada cuando lo recuerde pero no tome más de 6 cápsulas al día.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Droglican

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Infección de las vías respiratorias, infección de las vías urinarias o dolor de pecho.

Los efectos adversos más comunmente observados con Droglican son:

  • diarrea, náuseas, indigestión, flatulencia (gases)

  • edema, retención de agua
  • reacción de tipo alérgico

Los efectos adversos observados en pacientes tratados únicamente con hidrocloruro de glucosamina (y no

descritos anteriormente) son los siguientes:

Poco frecuentes (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 100 pacientes/personas):

  • enrojecimiento o erupción de alguna zona de la piel y picores

Frecuencia no conocida (no pueden estimarse a partir de los datos disponibles):

  • hinchazón de la cara, la lengua o la garganta
  • urticaria, hinchazón / tumefacción de tobillos, piernas y pies?
  • mareos, vómitos
  • empeoramiento en el control de la glucosa sanguínea en pacientes con diabetes mellitus

5. Conservación de Droglican

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30º C. Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la

humedad.

Mantener este medicamento fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de su farmacia habitual. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
