1. Qué es Callicida Kendu y para qué se utiliza

Es un medicamento que contiene ácido salicílico a concentraciones altas, que tiene propiedades queratolíticas, es decir, produce un ablandamiento y posterior destrucción del estrato córneo de la piel.

Callicida Kendu está indicado para la eliminación de callos, durezas u ojos de gallo, en adultos y niños mayores de 14 años.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Callicida Kendu

No use Callicida Kendu

  • Si es alérgico al ácido salicílico, a salicilatos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece problemas de circulación periférica.
  • Si es diabético.
  • En la cara ni sobre los ojos, ni mucosas (como los genitales), ni en otras lesiones de la piel distintas de las reflejadas en la sección 1.
  • Sobre zonas enrojecidas, inflamadas o irritadas.
  • En niños menores de 2 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

  • Este medicamento es de uso externo exclusivamente (uso cutáneo).
  • Evite el contacto con la piel sana.

Niños

Este medicamento está contraindicado en niños menores de 2 años. El uso en niños de 2 a 14 años solo se hará bajo control médico.

Uso de Callicida Kendu con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizando recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

No usar conjuntamente con otros productos en la misma zona, como por ejemplo: otros productos queratolíticos, jabones abrasivos, peróxido de benzoilo, resorcinol, azufre, tretinoína o con preparados que contengan alcohol.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No debe utilizar Callicida Kendu durante el embarazo, excepto para el tratamiento a corto plazo de una pequeña zona de la piel.

Las formas orales (p. ej., comprimidos) de esta clase de medicamentos pueden causar efectos adversos en el feto. Se desconoce si los mismos riesgos son aplicables a Callicida Kendu cuando se utiliza en la piel.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo usar Callicida Kendu

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Uso cutáneo.

Adultos y niños mayores de 14 años: Aplicar una pequeña cantidad de Callicida Kendu, suficiente para cubrir el callo o dureza u ojo de gallo que desea eliminar, una vez al día, al acostarse. Al cabo de 6 días, aproximadamente, el callo comenzará a desprenderse por si mismo o con la ayuda de un lavado o baño de agua caliente.

Si fuese necesario, puede repetir el tratamiento dejando un periodo de reposo entre ambos de, al menos, 5 días.

Si el tratamiento no fuera eficaz tras 4-6 días o si los síntomas empeoran o persisten, debe consultar al médico quien se replanteará si son necesarias otras medidas.

No utilice Callicida Kendu durante más de 7 días seguidos.

Normas de administración:

Uso cutáneo.

Después de la aplicación se podría cubrir la zona con una gasa o tirita.

Uso en niños

No usar en niños de 2 a 14 años sin consultar al médico.

Si usa más Callicida Kendu del que debiera

Debido a la vía de administración de este medicamento (uso cutáneo), la intoxicación es poco probable.

En caso de aplicación accidental en los ojos o mucosas, enjuáguese con abundante agua.

La sobredosis o la ingestión podrían producir síntomas de toxicidad sistémica por salicilatos.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y cantidad tomada (o acuda a un centro médico).

Si olvidó usar Callicida Kendu

No use una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Callicida Kendu puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Al aplicar el producto puede aparecer: irritación, quemazón y picor, incluso dermatitis (inflamación en la piel) y ulceración local. En estos casos, se recomienda suspender el tratamiento temporalmente hasta que la irritación desaparezca. Al reemprender el tratamiento, debe prestarse especial atención a que la pomada sólo esté en contacto con el callo.

Si se aplicase la pomada en lesiones abiertas se podría producir eritema (enrojecimiento) y descamación excesivos de la piel; otros posibles efectos adversos son: cicatrices debidas al tratamiento.

Pueden presentarse reacciones alérgicas.

Si experimenta efectos adversos, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico, incluso si se trata de efectos adversos que no aparecen en este prospecto.

5. Conservación de Callicida Kendu

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Callicida Kendu 500 mg/g pomada

  • El principio activo es Ácido salicílico. Cada gramo de pomada contiene 500 mg de ácido salicílico (50 %).
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: vaselina blanca filante y aceite de parafina.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Callicida Kendu es una pomada homogénea de color blanco, untuosa al tacto sin grumos ni agregados.

Se presenta en tubos de aluminio con 10 g de pomada.
