1. Qué es Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml CUSÍ y para qué se utiliza

La sustancia activa de este medicamento es acetilcolina cloruro, que interviene en la trasmisión de impulsos nerviosos en el cuerpo. Actúa, entre otros lugares, en un músculo del iris del ojo.

Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml Cusí está indicado durante la operación de cataratas y otro tipos de operaciones del segmento anterior de los ojos para contraer la pupila (parte central del ojo). Esto ayuda al cirujano a finalizar la operación.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de que le administren Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml CUSÍ

No debe administrarse Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml Cusí

  • Si es alérgico a acetilcolina cloruro o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Pacientes mayores de 65 años

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo usar Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml CUSÍ

Este medicamento es únicamente para Uso Hospitalario.

Este medicamento debe ser administrado únicamente por su médico durante la operación del ojo.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos

Su médico calculará la dosis correcta que le corresponde de este medicamento.

Si utiliza la solución extemporánea de 10 mg/ml (solución que se prepara para poderse utilizar el medicamento); se prepara según las Instrucciones de reconstitución que se explican más abajo.

Con el uso de 0.5 a 2 ml, en la mayoría de los casos se consigue en unos segundos una contracción de la pupila (miosis) adecuada. El efecto se mantiene durante 10-20 minutos. Si se necesita una miosis más prolongada puede repetirse la aplicación, o utilizar por vía oftálmica una solución de pilocarpina (2%) después de la cirugía y antes de la aplicación del vendaje.

Su médico decidirá cuándo utilizar esta solución. En operación de catarata, solo debe utilizarse después de la extracción del cristalino.

El médico le administrará este medicamento siguiendo las instrucciones siguientes:

  • Con ayuda de una aguja, aspirar el contenido de la ampolla en una jeringa seca y estéril.
  • Añadirlo al vial que contiene el acetilcolina cloruro liofilizado (polvo).
  • Agitar cuidadosamente hasta conseguir la disolución del polvo.
  • Aspirar la solución nuevamente con la jeringa y reemplazar la aguja por una cánula atraumática adecuada para la instilación intraocular.
  • Instilar la solución de acetilcolina dentro de la cámara anterior antes o después de asegurar una o más suturas.
  • La instilación debe ser suave, paralela a la cara del iris y tangencial al borde de la pupila.
  • No es necesario retirar la solución de la cámara anterior del ojo después de conseguirse la miosis.
  • La solución de acetilcolina cloruro es inestable. Por lo tanto, debe ser preparada por un profesional sanitario inmediatamente antes de su utilización y debe desecharse la que no se haya empleado.

Uso en niños

No se ha estudiado la eficacia y seguridad de Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml Cusí en niños, por lo que no se recomienda su uso.

Uso en pacientes mayores

Ver apartado "Advertencias y precauciones" en la sección 2.

Si usa más ACETILCOLINA 10 mg/ml CUSÍ del que debe

Si se usa más cantidad de la recomendada el médico puede tener que administrarle una inyección de atropina o de otros fármacos anticolinérgicos para controlar los síntomas.

Los síntomas de sobredosis pueden incluir: ritmo cardiaco lento, presión sanguínea baja, rubor, dificultad para respirar y sudoración.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

  • Efectos en el ojo: hinchazón o enturbiamiento de la córnea (la capa transparente que protege la parte frontal del ojo), inflamación en el interior del ojo. Esto puede afectar su visión.
  • Efectos generales: rubor, sudoración, ritmo cardiaco lento, presión sanguínea baja y dificultad para respirar. Estos efectos se producen en raras ocasiones cuando la acetilcolina es absorbida desde el ojo al resto del cuerpo. Los pacientes mayores de 65 años pueden ser más propensos a sufrir estos efectos.

5. Conservación de Acetilcolina 10 mg/ml CUSÍ

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Utilizar inmediatamente después de preparada la solución y desechar la solución no empleada.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el vial y en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de ACETILCOLINA 10 mg/ml CUSÍ

  • El principio activo es acetilcolina cloruro. Un ml de la solución preparada contiene 10 mg de acetilcolina cloruro (1%).
  • Los demás componentes son manitol (E-421) en el vial y agua para preparaciones inyectables en la ampolla.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

El medicamento se presenta en polvo y disolvente para solución para instilación por vía intraocular.

El envase contiene un vial con polvo blanco y una ampolla con el disolvente transparente e incoloro. El polvo debe ser reconstituido con el disolvente antes de la utilización, obteniéndose una solución transparente e incolora.
