Contains salicylic acid and lactic acid as active principles and belongs to the group of anti-wart medicationsanti-wart. When applied to the skin, it produces softening and subsequent destruction of the stratum corneum, allowing for the removal of warts.

Antiverrugas Isdin is indicated for the treatment of cutaneous warts.

Do not use Antiverrugas Isdin:

- if you are allergic to salicylic acid, lactic acid, or any of the other components of this medication (listed in section 6).

- in irritated, inflamed, or wounded skin areas.

- in moles or birthmarks.

- in children under 2 years old.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Antiverrugas Isdin.

For external use only. Do not ingest.

Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and healthy skin. Rinse with water for 15 minutes if the liquid comes into contact with eyes or other mucous membranes or skin that is not to be treated.

Highly flammable. Avoid smoking during application and keep the bottle away from flames or heat.

Take caution when using this medication in the following cases:

- if you have diabetes mellitus.

- if you have peripheral circulation problems (especially in the legs).

Patients with renal and/or hepatic insufficiency, who use the product for a long time or extensively may experience adverse effects.

Older adults

Older adults may be more likely to have blood vessel problems, which should be taken into account for the possibility of adverse effects.

Children and adolescents

Antiverrugas ISDIN is contraindicated in children under 2 years old.

In children between 2 and 12 years old, it should only be used under medical supervision.

Using Antiverrugas Isdin with other medications

Antiverrugas Isdin should not be used together with other similar products (keratolytics) in the same area, as they may potentiate the effect of its components.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.

No information is available on the use of this medication in pregnant women. As a precaution, it is recommended to avoid using Antiverrugas Isdin during pregnancy.

The oral forms (e.g., tablets) of this type of medication may cause adverse effects in the fetus. It is unknown whether the same risks apply to Antiverrugas Isdin when used for warts.

Do not use Antiverrugas Isdin during breastfeeding, except if it is clearly necessary, weighing the potential benefits against the possible risks for the child/baby.

Driving and operating machinery

The use of this medication does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Follow exactly the administration instructions of the medication contained in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Skin use (on the skin).

The recommended dose is:

-Adults and children over 2 years old(in children over 2 years old and under 12, under medical supervision):

Apply to the wart or warts once a day.

Before applying Antiverrugas Isdin, it is recommended to rub the surface of the wart with a file.

Apply with the spatula one drop of Antiverrugas Isdin to the wart to be treated, avoiding touching the surrounding healthy skin as it may cause redness and/or burns.Protect this area with a petroleum jelly or oily cream (Vaseline).

Let it dry and cover with a band-aid for 12 hours. Repeat the operation until the complete disappearance of the wart.

Consult your doctor if the warts are abundant or if an infection or inflammation occurs.

Although 12 weeks of treatment may be necessary, consult your doctor if no improvement is noted after 2 weeks.

If you use more Antiverrugas Isdin than you should

Due to the administration route of this medication (skin use), poisoning is unlikely.

In case of accidental application to the eyes or mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of water.

In the case of accidental ingestion through the oral route, systemic toxicity symptoms by salicylates may occur. Administer liquids, such as water.

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately, or go to a medical center or call the Toxicological Information Service, Teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicating the product and the amount ingested.

Like all medications, this medication may produce adverse effects, although not all people may experience them..

Redness, inflammation, and even ulceration or burning may occur in healthy skin areas surrounding the wart, in contact with the medication. If any of these symptoms occur, discontinue treatment until the irritation subsides and continue treatment with caution, ensuring the medication is in contact only with the wart(s).

A medication allergy reaction could occur.

Reporting Adverse Effects

If you experience any type of adverse effect, consult your doctor or pharmacist, even if it involves possible adverse effects not listed in this prospectus. You may also report them directly through the Spanish System for Pharmacovigilance of Medicinal Products for Human Use:www.notificaRAM.es.

Reporting adverse effects can help provide more information about the safety of this medication.

Keep this medication out of the sight and reach of children.

No special storage conditions are required.

Due to its highly flammable nature, keep the bottle tightly closed and away from flames or heat.

Do not use this medication after the expiration date that appears on the packaging after CAD. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated..

Medications should not be disposed of through drains or in the trash. Dispose of the packaging and unused medications at the SIGRE collection point at the pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of unused packaging and medications. By doing so, you will help protect the environment.

Composition of Antiverrugas Isdin ointment

- The active principles are Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid. Each milliliter of solution contains 167 mg of salicylic acid (16.7%) and 167 mg of lactic acid (16.7%).

- The other components are: collodion (elastic).

Appearance of the product and contents of the packaging

Antiverrugas Isdin is a collodion, colorless or slightly yellowish viscous liquid with an ether-like odor.

It is presented in a glass bottle with 20 ml of collodion.
