1. Qué es Notus Mucolítico y para qué se utiliza

Pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados mucolíticos, que actúan disminuyendo la viscosidad del moco, fluidificándolo y facilitando su eliminación.

Está indicado para el alivio del exceso de mocos y flemas que aparecen en los procesos gripales, catarrales, o resfriado común.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 5 días.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Notus Mucolítico

No tome Notus mucolítico

  • Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a la carbocisteína y sus derivados, o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

  • Durante los primeros días de tratamiento podrá observar un aumento de mocos y flemas que irá disminuyendo a lo largo del tratamiento.
  • Si padece úlcera de estómago, duodeno, asma o cualquier enfermedad respiratoria grave ya que se puede aumentar la obstrucción de las vías respiratorias.

Niños y adolescentes

Este medicamento no debe administrarse a niños de edades comprendidas entre 2 y 12 años.

Notus mucolítico 50 mg/ml solución oral está contraindicado en niños menores de 2 años debido a problemas de seguridad.

Otros medicamentos y Notus Mucolítico

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos, incluso los adquiridos sin receta.

No tome este medicamento con antitusivos ni con sustancias inhibidoras de las secreciones bronquiales porque puede provocar un acumulo del moco fluidificado.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar cualquier medicamento.

Las mujeres embarazadas solo pueden tomar este medicamento si su médico lo considera necesario.

Este medicamento puede provocar reacciones de tipo alérgico.

Puede producir reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) y, excepcionalmente broncoespasmo.

Este medicamento contiene 110, 76 mg de sodio por 15 ml, equivalente a 5,54 % de la ingesta máxima diaria de 2 g recomendada por la OMS para un adulto.

3. Cómo tomar Notus Mucolítico

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas.

La dosis normal es:

Adultos y niños mayores de 12 años:

15 ml de solución oral medidos con el vasito medidor (750 mg de carbocisteína), 3 veces al día.

No debe tomar más de 45 ml (3 vasitos medidores) en 24 horas.

Una vez que observe mejoría, puede reducir la dosis hasta 10 ml de solución oral (500 mg de carbocisteína) 3 veces al día, equivalente a un máximo diario de 30 ml de la solución oral (1,5 mg de carbocisteína).

Cómo tomar

Este medicamento se toma por vía oral.

Se recomienda beber un vaso de agua después de cada dosis y abundante cantidad de líquido durante el día.

Si empeora, o si no mejora después de 5 días de tratamiento, o se produce fiebre, erupciones en la piel, dolor de cabeza persistente o dolor de garganta, debe consultar a su médico.

Si toma más Notus mucolítico del que debe

Si usted ha tomado más de lo que debe, puede notar dolor de estómago, náuseas y diarreas, picor y erupciones en la piel.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte a su médico, farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 915 62 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad tomada.

Si olvidó tomar Notus mucolítico

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

En caso necesario, vuelva a tomar el medicamento según se indica en el apartado 3. Como tomar Notus Mucolítico.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Durante el periodo de utilización de la carbocisteína se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos:

Raras (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 1.000 personas): Náuseas, diarrea

Muy raras (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 10.000 personas): Dolor abdominal y reacciones alérgicas como erupción, urticaria y picor.

5. Conservación de Notus Mucolítico

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase tras la abreviatura CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Una vez abierto el envase, no debe utilizarse pasados 12 meses.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Notus mucolítico

Cada ml de solución oral contiene:

  • 50 mg de carbocisteína.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: sacarina sódica, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E 218), esencia de frambuesa, rojo cochinilla, A (Ponceau 4R) (E-124), carmelosa sódica, hidróxido de sodio, agua purificada, solución de hidróxido de sodio 1N (para ajustar el pH).

La sacarina sódica, la carmelosa sódica, el hidróxido de sodio y la solución de hidróxido de sodio 1N, aportan 7,38 mg de sodio por cada ml de solución oral.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Envase de 200 ml de solución oral de color rojo cereza y sabor a frambuesa, acompañado de vasito medidor con señales a 2’5 ml, 5 ml, 7’5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml y 20 ml.
