1. Qué es Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato y para qué se utiliza

Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato actúa como un laxante de tipo osmótico, debido a la acción combinada del Citrato de sodio, que actúa reteniendo líquido en el intestino, incrementando el volumen de agua en las heces, y del Lauril sulfoacetato de sodio, un agente humectante.

Está indicado para el alivio local sintomático del estreñimiento ocasional en adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 6 días de tratamiento.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato

No use Micralax Citrato/Lauril Sulfoacetato:

  • Si es alérgico al Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato de sodio o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si está padeciendo hemorroides.
  • Si padece colitis hemorrágica.

Advertencias y precauciones

En caso de no mejorar, empeorar, o en caso de aparición de sangre en heces, irritación, dolor, debe interrumpir el tratamiento y consultar al médico.

No use este medicamento más de 6 días seguidos, salvo que su médico se lo indique.

Niños y adolescentes

Si usted está en tratamiento para bajar el nivel de calcio en sangre con un medicamento que contenga sulfonato sódico de polistireno, no use Micralax, porque puede producirse necrosis intestinal.

SULFONATO DE POLIESTIRENO DE SODIO:

Se han notificado casos aislados de perforación ileocólica y necrosis del colon en pacientes tratados de hipercalemia.

Se aconseja a los pacientes que toman sorbitol que consulten al médico antes de usar este medicamento

Micralax contiene ácido sórbico

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones locales en la piel (como dermatitis de contacto) porque contiene ácido sórbico.

3. Cómo usar Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada en adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años es de 1 cánula al día.

No utilice este medicamento más de 6 días seguidos.

Forma de administración

Este medicamento se utiliza por vía rectal.

En el momento elegido para la deposición, y una vez quitado el capuchón del envase que cierra el extremo de la cánula, colóquelo en posición vertical con la punta hacia arriba y oprímalo ligeramente para que unas gotas de Micralax humedezcan el extremo de la cánula, con objeto de facilitar su introducción en el recto. Una vez introducida, apriete las paredes de la cánula hasta vaciar totalmente su contenido y retírela suavemente sin dejar de presionar.

Reprima la evacuación el mayor tiempo posible para que el medicamento ejerza su acción.

Uso en niños

No se debe utilizar en niños menores de 12 años, a no ser que su médico lo considere necesario.

Si usa más Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato del que debe

Debido al tipo de medicamento del que se trata, no es probable que se produzcan cuadros de intoxicación.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91. 562.04.20 (indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida).

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Efectos adversos muy raros (pueden afectar hasta1 de cada 10.000 personas): dolor abdominal, malestar anorectal, deposiciones diarreicas y reacciones alérgicas (urticaria).

5. Conservación de Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto Sigre de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Micralax Citrato/Lauril sulfoacetato

Los principios activos son: Citrato de sodio (450 mg por aplicador) y Lauril sulfoacetato de sodio (45 mg por aplicador).

Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: Sorbitol (E-420), Glicerol (E-422), Acido sórbico (E-200) y Agua purificada.
