1. Qué es Daflon y para qué se utiliza

Daflon es un medicamento venotónico: aumenta el tono de las venas y la resistencia de los capilares (pequeños vasos sanguíneos).

Daflon está indicado, en adultos, para el alivio de los síntomas relacionados con la insuficiencia venosa leve de las extremidades inferiores, tales como dolor, sensación de pesadez, tirantez, hormigueo y picor en piernas con varices o piernas hinchadas.

Está indicado para el alivio de los síntomas relacionados con las hemorroides como el dolor o la inflamación en la zona del ano en adultos.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o no mejora después de 2 semanas de tratamiento en caso de insuficiencia venosa, o después de 1 semana de tratamiento en caso de hemorroides.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Daflon

No tome Daflon:

  • si es alérgico al principio activo o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

No utilizar de forma prolongada sin control médico.

Niños y adolescentes

Daflon no está dirigido al uso en niños y adolescentes (menores de 18 años).

Otros medicamentos y Daflon

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando o ha tomado recientemente cualquier otro medicamento, incluso los adquiridos sin receta médica.

No se conocen interacciones con los alimentos ni con otros medicamentos, en todo caso nunca debe tomar otro medicamento por iniciativa propia sin que se lo haya recomendado su médico.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, o cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene la intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Embarazo

Como medida de precaución, es preferible evitar el uso de Daflon durante el embarazo.

Lactancia

No se recomienda la lactancia durante el tratamiento por la ausencia de datos sobre la excreción del medicamento en leche materna.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

No se ha descrito ningún efecto sobre la capacidad de conducción y uso de máquinas con Daflon.

Daflon contiene sodio

Este medicamento contiene menos de 1 mmol de sodio (23 mg) por comprimido; esto es, esencialmente “exento de sodio”.

3. Cómo tomar Daflon

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico.

Adultos:

Insuficiencia venosa:

La dosis recomendada es de 2 comprimidos al día, repartidos en dos tomas, un comprimido al medio día y otro por la noche, con las comidas.

El alivio de los síntomas se produce, habitualmente, en las primeras 2 semanas de tratamiento. Si no siente alivio a las 2 semanas o los síntomas empeoran, debe consultar al médico.

Por indicación del médico se puede continuar el tratamiento con la misma dosis diaria (2 comprimidos diarios) hasta 2-3 meses.

Hemorroides:

La dosis recomendada es:

Durante los 4 primeros días: 2 comprimidos, 3 veces al día.

Durante los 3 días siguientes: 2 comprimidos, 2 veces al día.

Después de esto, se puede continuar el tratamiento con una dosis de 2 comprimidos al día.

Si los síntomas no mejoran o empeoran en la primera semana de tratamiento, debe consultar al médico.

Si toma más Daflon del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o acuda a un centro médico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Existe experiencia limitada de sobredosis con Daflon pero los síntomas notificados incluyen diarrea, náuseas, dolor abdominal, prurito y erupción cutánea.

Si olvidó tomar Daflon

Es importante tomar este medicamento cada día. Sin embargo, si olvidó tomar una o más dosis de Daflon, tome otra tan pronto como se acuerde y después siga con el tratamiento. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Estos efectos adversos incluyen:

  • Frecuentes (menos de 1 de cada 10 pero más de 1 de cada 100): trastornos gastrointestinales (diarrea, indigestión, náuseas, vómitos).
  • Poco Frecuentes (menos de 1 de cada 100 pero más de 1 de cada 1.000): colitis.
  • Raros (menos de 1 de cada 1.000 pero más de 1 de cada 10.000): trastornos del sistema nervioso (mareos, dolor de cabeza, malestar) y reacciones cutáneas (erupción cutánea, prurito, urticaria).
  • Frecuencia no conocida: dolor abdominal, edema aislado de la cara, labios y párpados (hinchazón). Excepcionalmente edema de Quincke (hinchazón rápida de tejidos tales como la cara, labios, boca, lengua o garganta que pueden causar dificultad para respirar).

Estos efectos adversos se han notificado sin necesidad de interrumpir el tratamiento.

5. Conservación de Daflon

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Mantenga este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Este medicamento no se debe utilizar después de la fecha de caducidad indicada en el envase.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Daflon

  • El principio activo es fracción flavonoica purificada y micronizada (500 mg por comprimido), conteniendo: Diosmina 450 mg y Flavonoides expresados en Hesperidina 50 mg.
  • Los demás componentes son: carboximetilalmidón sódico tipo A (de patata), celulosa microcristalina, gelatina, estearato de magnesio, talco, laurilsulfato de sodio, polietilenglicol 6000, premezcla seca salmón para recubrimiento*.

*La premezcla seca salmón está constituida por: dióxido de titanio (E 171), glicerol, hipromelosa, óxido de hierro amarillo (E 172), óxido de hierro rojo (E 172), polietilenglicol 6000 y estearato de magnesio.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Los comprimidos de Daflon son recubiertos con película de color salmón y forma ovalada.

Daflon está disponible en blísters en envases que contienen 30 o 60 comprimidos.
