1. What Tuscalman is and what it is used for

Noscapine is a centrally acting antitussive that temporarily reduces the cough impulse.

Tuscalman is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of all forms of non-productive cough (dry cough).

2. What you need to know before starting to use Tuscalman

Do not use Tuscalman

  • if you are allergic to the active substance or to any of the other components of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • in children under 2 years of age.

Warnings and precautions

This medicine may cause drowsiness.

It may enhance the effects of alcohol, so it is advisable to avoid consuming alcoholic beverages during treatment.

Inform your doctor about your current and past medical problems, especially diabetes and any allergy you may suffer from.

Use of Tuscalman with other medicines

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or may need to use any other medicine.

The concomitant use of Tuscalman and sedative medicines such as benzodiazepines or related medicines increases the risk of drowsiness, difficulty breathing (respiratory depression), coma, and can be potentially fatal. Due to this, concomitant use should only be considered when other treatment options are not possible.

However, if your doctor prescribes Tuscalman along with sedative medicines, your doctor must limit the dose and duration of concomitant treatment.

Inform your doctor about all sedative medicines you are taking and carefully follow your doctor's recommendations regarding the dose. 3. How to use Tuscalman

The recommended dose is:

Tuscalman 15 mg Suppositories Children should be applied exclusively via the rectal route.

Children:

Children from 2 to 6 years of age: 1 suppository every 8-12 hours.

Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 1 suppository every 5 hours.

If you use more Tuscalman than you should

The most frequent symptom in case of overdose is excessive drowsiness.

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately or call the Toxicology Information Service, phone: 91 562 04 20, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested.

5. Storage of Tuscalman

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not store above 25°C. In periods of high temperature, it is recommended to store the suppositories in the refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C).

Do not use this medicine after the expiration date stated on the packaging after CAD. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Deposit the packaging and medicines you no longer need at the SIGRE point in the pharmacy. In case of doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the packaging and medicines you no longer need. This way, you will help protect the environment.
