Este medicamento contiene tetracaína, un principio activo que pertenece al grupo de anestésicos locales.

Tetracaína Lainco es un gel lubricante y anestésico de uso local que se utiliza para cateterismos en general, cistoscopias, uretroscopias, sondajes uretrales, etc.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Tetracaína Lainco

No use Tetracaína Lainco:

  • Si es alérgico a tetracaína o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si es alérgico a otros anestésicos locales de tipo éster.
  • En piel o mucosas laceradas o con heridas.
  • En niños menores de 1 mes o en bebés prematuros debido a la falta de madurez del sistema enzimático que metaboliza los anestésicos locales tipo éster.
  • Conjuntamente con otros productos de aplicación tópica.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero antes de empezar a usar Tetracaína Lainco.

No debe ser ingerido.

La administración tópica o inyectable local de anestésicos como la benzocaína y prilocaína más comúnmente o tras la administración de lidocaína, procaína y tetracaína puede producir metahemoglobinemia. La metahemoglobinemia puede ser el resultado de administrar dosis normales así como de la exposición a concentraciones tóxicas de anestésicos locales.

No se recomienda la aplicación de este medicamento en el oído medio o en procedimientos que pudiesen implicar la penetración al oído medio.

La aplicación repetida de Tetracaína Lainco podría aumentar el riesgo de presentar reacciones alérgicas a tetracaína.

Niños

No se recomienda la utilización de este medicamento en niños menores de 1 mes ni en bebés prematuros.

Uso de Tetracaína Lainco con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Tetracaína Lainco administrado junto con los siguientes medicamentos puede afectar a la cinética de la tetracaína, por ejemplo:

  • medicamentos antibióticos tipo sulfonamidas, puede disminuir la actividad de éstos.
  • medicamentos inhibidores de la colinesterasa tales como: demecario (medicamento empleado para el tratamiento del glaucoma), ciclofosfamida (medicamento para el tratamiento del cáncer), ecotiopato (medicamento para el tratamiento del cáncer) y tiotepa (medicamento para el tratamiento del cáncer), pueden incrementar el riesgo de toxicidad sistémica (en el organismo).
  • medicamentos que se sabe inducen metahemoglobinemia tales como: sulfonamidas (antibióticos), nitratos y nitritos (tratamiento de la angina de pecho), nitrofurantoína (antibiótico), nitroglicerina (tratamiento preventivo de la angina de pecho), nitroprusiato (medicamento para reducir la tensión arterial), pamaquina y quinina (para el tratamiento de la malaria) y naftaleno.

Tetracaína Lainco es exclusivamente para uso uretral. No debe ser ingerido.

5. Conservación de Tetracaína Lainco

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Conservar por debajo de 30ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Desechar el medicamento 2 meses después de la apertura del envase.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Tetracaína Lainco

  • El principio activo es tetracaína hidrocloruro, 1 gramo de gel contiene 7,5 mg tetracaína hidrocloruro.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: glicerol (E-422), goma tragacanto, ácido cítrico monohidrato y citrato de sodio.

Tetracaína Lainco se presenta como un gel translúcido.

Se presenta según formato:

  • Formato de 6 g: estuche con 1 tubo de polietileno de baja densidad provisto de cánula de polietileno de baja densidad con tapón de polietileno de baja densidad.
  • Formato de 25 g: Estuche con 1 tubo de polietileno de baja densidad/polietileno de alta densidad provisto de cánula de polietileno de alta densidad con cápsula de cierre de polipropileno.
