1. Qué es Supliven y para qué se utiliza

Supliven es un medicamento que contiene oligoelementos. Los oligoelementos son pequeñas cantidades de sustancias químicas que su organismo necesita para funcionar adecuadamente. Supliven se administra por vía intravenosa (en una vena) si usted es un adulto o un niño con un peso mayor o igual a 15 Kg, que no puede comer con normalidad.

Este medicamento se utiliza normalmente como parte de una dieta intravenosa equilibrada, junto con proteínas, grasas, hidratos de carbono, sales y vitaminas.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Supliven

No se le debe administrar Supliven:

  • si es alérgico a los principios activos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6). Si aparece erupción u otras reacciones alérgicas (como picor, hinchazón de los labios o de la cara, o dificultad para respirar), informe a su médico inmediatamente.
  • si tiene obstruidos los conductos biliares
  • si padece la enfermedad de Wilson (enfermedad genética que produce acumulación de cobre en el hígado) o hemocromatosis (acumulación de hierro en el cuerpo)

Supliven no debe ser administrado a niños de menos de 15 kg de peso

Advertencias y precauciones

Informe a su médico si tiene problemas con el funcionamiento de su hígado o riñón.

Puede que su médico le realice análisis de sangre periódicos para controlar su estado. Si toma hierro oralmente en paralelo a la perfusión, puede que su médico quiera asegurarse de que no acumula hierro en su cuerpo.

Aunque las necesidades de oligoelementos se ven ligeramente incrementadas en las mujeres embarazadas, no existen datos de seguridad para la administración de Supliven durante el embarazo. Por lo tanto, Supliven no debe ser administrado durante el embarazo, a no ser que sea absolutamente necesario.

Los principios activos de Supliven se excretan en la leche materna y se han observado efectos en lactantes cuyas madres fueron tratadas con este medicamento. Supliven sólo debe ser administrado a mujeres en periodo de lactancia si éstas necesitan obtener oligolementos por medio de la nutrición parenteral.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Supliven no tiene ningún efecto sobre la conducción o el uso de máquinas.

3. Cómo usar Supliven

Este medicamento será administrado por personal sanitario.

Usted recibirá el medicamento mediante perfusión directamente en una vena (gotero intravenoso).

Su médico decidirá la dosis adecuada que debe recibir.

La dosis recomendada para adultos es de 10 ml (una ampolla) al día. Si tiene problemas con su hígado o sus riñones puede que se le administre una dosis inferior.

Antes de la administración, Supliven debe añadirse a otra solución. Su médico o enfermero se asegurarán de que el medicamento esté preparado correctamente antes de administrárselo a usted.

Uso en niños

La dosis recomendada para niños de peso superior a 15 kg es de 0,1 ml por kg de peso corporal al día.

Si le administran más Supliven del que deben

Es poco probable que reciba más medicamento del que debiera, ya que su médico o enfermero le controlarán durante el tratamiento. Sin embargo, si usted cree que le están administrando demasiada cantidad de Supliven, informe a su médico o enfermero inmediatamente.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Supliven puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

No se han observado efectos adversos debidos al uso de Supliven de acuerdo con las recomendaciones descritas..

Se han observado algunos casos de tromboflebitis superficial tras la administración de glucosa conteniendo Addamel. No obstante, ha sido imposible confirmar si esta reacción fue causada por los oliogolementos.

5. Conservación de Supliven

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

El médico y el farmacéutico del hospital son los responsables de la correcta conservación, uso y eliminación de Supliven.

Después de la dilución: La adición de Supliven debe realizarse inmediatamente antes del inicio de la perfusión y se debe utilizar en las 24 horas siguientes. Si no se usa inmediatamente, los tiempos y las condiciones de conservación antes del uso son responsabilidad del usuario y normalmente no deberían exceder de 24 horas a 2-8 º C, a menos que la mezcla se haya realizado en condiciones asépticas controladas y validadas.

Cualquier resto de solución que quede después del tratamiento se debe eliminar de acuerdo con los procedimientos estándar del hospital.
