Suero Fisiológico Vitulia pertenece al grupo de medicamentos de soluciones intravenosas.

Suero Fisiológico Vitulia se utiliza para reemplazar el agua y las sales de sodio y cloruro que pueden llegar a ser bajos como consecuencia de diferentes alteraciones o trastornos. También se utiliza como solución de transporte de otros medicamentos compatibles.

2. Antes de usar Suero Fisiológico Vitulia

No useSuero Fisiológico Vitulia

  • Si es alérgico (hipersensible) al principio activo de Suero Fisiológico Vitulia.

Si presenta:

  • exceso de agua en el cuerpo (hiperhidratación), de sodio (hipernatremia) o de cloruro (hipercloremia)
  • acidosis (pH inferior al rango normal)
  • estados edematosos en pacientes con alteraciones cardíacas, hepáticas o renales e hipertensión grave.

Asimismo, no debe ser administrada a pacientes con niveles bajos de potasio (hipocaliemia) sobre todo en enfermos cardiovasculares.

Tenga especial cuidado conSuero Fisiológico Vitulia

Si tiene trastornos en los que está indicada una restricción del consumo de sodio, como son la insuficiencia cardíaca, retención de líquidos generalizada (edema), acumulación de líquidos en el pulmón (edema pulmonar), hipertensión (tensión arterial alta), hipertensión durante el embarazo (eclampsia), insuficiencia de riñón grave.

Debe controlarse de forma regular las sales en suero, el balance de agua y el equilibrio ácido-base.

En terapias prolongadas y en pacientes con desequilibrio ácido-base, alteraciones cardíacas, hepáticas y/o renales, así como si está en tratamiento con corticoides u hormona adrenocorticotropa, deben realizarse controles frecuentes de los electrolitos en sangre.

En caso de que sufra un caso de deshidratación hipertónica (pérdida de agua con exceso de sales) debe evitarse una velocidad de perfusión alta ya que puede provocar un aumento en la osmolaridad plasmática (concentración de sales en el plasma) y, en concreto, la concentración plasmática de sodio (cantidad de sodio en la sangre).

En prematuros y lactantes la administración de cloruro de sodio sólo se debe dar después de determinar los niveles de sodio en suero.

Uso de otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos, incluso los adquiridos sin receta.

La administración de cloruro de sodio acelera la excreción renal del litio, dando lugar a una disminución de la acción terapéutica de éste.

Debe administrarse con precaución en pacientes tratados con corticoides u hormona adrenocorticotropa ya que pueden retener agua y sodio.

Antes de mezclar con otros medicamentos se deben comprobar las tablas de compatibilidad, tener en cuenta el pH y controlar los iones.

Embarazo y lactancia

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar cualquier medicamento.

Se puede usar Suero Fisiológico Vitulia cuando esté indicado en el embarazo y la lactancia.

3. Cómo usar Suero Fisiológico Vitulia

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de Suero Fisiológico Vitulia indicadas por su médico. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas.

La dosis diaria normal son hasta 40 ml por kg de peso corporal.

La velocidad de perfusión recomendada es de unos 5 ml por kg de peso corporal por hora, que corresponden a 1,7 gotas por kg de peso corporal por minuto.

Su médico decidirá la dosis y frecuencia con la que se le administrará la solución, y dependerá de su edad, peso y situación clínica.

Debe administrarse una mayor cantidad de solución y a una velocidad más elevada en aquellos pacientes que manifiesten un déficit de volumen plasmático (Shock hipovolémico).

Si usa másSuero Fisiológico Vituliadel que debiera

Es poco probable que esto suceda ya que su doctor determinará sus dosis diarias. Sin embargo, si recibiera una sobredosis, podrá provocarle un exceso de concentración en sangre de sodio, cloruro y de electrolitos en general o tener un exceso de hidratación y manifestaciones relacionadas como acidosis metabólica (pH sanguíneo inferior al normal), sobrecarga del corazón y formación de edemas. En tal caso, debe interrumpirse la perfusión, administrar medicamentos diuréticos para eliminar el exceso de líquido, junto con un control de los electrolitos en sangre y el equilibrio ácido-base.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Suero Fisiológico Vitulia puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Si se administran muchas cantidades de la solución, pueden incrementar los niveles en el plasma de sodio y cloruro.

Si se administra continuamente en el mismo lugar de perfusión puede producirse dolor, fiebre, infección, y flebitis que se extiende desde el sitio de inyección, extravasación e hipervolemia.

Si se utiliza como vehículo para la administración de otros medicamentos, la naturaleza de los medicamentos añadidos determinará la probabilidad de otras reacciones adversas.

En caso de reacciones adversas debe interrumpirse la perfusión.

Si considera que alguno de los efectos adversos que sufre es grave o si aprecia cualquier efecto adverso no mencionado en este prospecto, informe a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de Suero Fisiológico Vitulia

Mantener fuera del alcance y la vista de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice Suero Fisiológico Vitulia después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No utilice Suero Fisiológico Vitulia si la solución presenta turbidez o sedimentación (presencia de partículas en el fondo del envase) o si el envase presenta signos visibles de deterioro.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
