1. Qué es Sekisan y para qué se utiliza

La cloperastina, principio activo de este medicamento, es un antitusivo que inhibe el reflejo de la tos. Sekisan es un medicamento indicado para el tratamiento de las formas improductivas de tos, como tos irritativa o tos nerviosa para adultos y niños a partir de 2 años.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 7 días de tratamiento.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Sekisan

No tome Sekisansi:

  • Es alérgico (hipersensible) al principio activo o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Es alérgico a los medicamentos para la alergia (antihistamínicos).
  • Está tomando medicamentos para el tratamiento de la depresión.
  • Está embarazada o cree estarlo o si se encuentra en periodo de lactancia.
  • Los niños menores de 2 años no pueden tomar este medicamento.

Advertencias y precauciones

Sekisan puede interaccionar con otros medicamentos tales como:

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Sekisan puede producir somnolencia a las dosis habituales. Si así fuera, absténgase de conducir y manejar maquinaria peligrosa.

Sekisan contiene sacarosa,parahidroxibenzoato de propilo (E-216), parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218), propilenglicol (E-1520), etanol y sodio

Este medicamento contiene sacarosa. Si su médico le ha indicado que padece una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, consulte con él antes de tomar este medicamento.

Los pacientes con diabetes mellitus deben tener en cuenta que este medicamento contiene 4,5 g de sacarosa por dosis de 10 ml.

Puede producir reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) porque contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218) y parahidroxibenzoato de propilo (E-216).

Este medicamento contiene 26,25 mg de propilenglicol (E-1520) en cada unidad de dosis (10 ml), equivalente a 2,625 mg/ml.

Este medicamento contiene 3,3 mg de alcohol (etanol) en cada unidad de dosis (10 ml) que equivale a 0,33 mg/ml (0,033% p/v). La cantidad en 10 ml (dosis unitaria) de este medicamento es equivalente a menos de 0,083 ml de cerveza o 0,034 ml de vino.

La pequeña cantidad de alcohol que contiene este medicamento no produce ningún efecto perceptible.

3. Cómo tomar Sekisan

La dosis recomendada es:

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Sekisan puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Los efectos adversos que más se pueden producir aunque son poco frecuentes son: somnolencia y sequedad de boca.

Los efectos adversos que se pueden producir son:

Poco frecuentes (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 100 pacientes): somnolencia, sequedad de boca (a altas dosis) alteraciones del movimiento, temblores y mareos.

Muy raros (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes): reacción alérgica, urticaria.

5. Conservación de Sekisan

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. 6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición deSekisan

El principio activo de Sekisan es Cloperastina fendizoato. Cada ml de jarabe contiene 3,54 mg de cloperastina fendizoato (equivalentes a 2 mg de cloperastina clorhidrato).

Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: sacarosa, celulosa microcristalina-carboximetilcelulosa sódica, macrogol 2000 monoestearato, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218), parahidroxibenzoato de propilo (E-216), esencia de plátano (contiene propilenglicol (E-1520) y etanol) y agua purificada.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Sekisan se presenta en forma de jarabe de color blanco y olor característico a esencia de plátano. Se presenta en un frasco de PET de color ámbar de 120 y 200 ml con cierre de seguridad para niños. En el estuche se incluye un vaso dosificador graduado con varias medidas.
