1. Qué es Rinialer y para qué se utiliza

Rupatadina es un antihistamínico.

Rinialer está indicado para el alivio de los síntomas de la rinitis alérgica tales como: estornudos, rinorrea, picor de ojos y de nariz.

Rinialer está indicado para el alivio de los síntomas asociados a la urticaria (erupción alérgica de la piel) como picor y las ronchas cutáneas (enrojecimiento e hinchazón de la piel).

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Rinialer

No tome Rinialer:

  • Si es alérgico a la rupatadina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Rinialer.

Si padece insuficiencia renal o hepática. consulte a su médico. El uso de Rinialer no está actualmente recomendado en pacientes con insuficiencia renal o hepática.

Si usted tiene los niveles de potasio en sangre bajos y/o si usted tiene un cierto patrón anormal de los latidos del corazón (prolongación conocida del intervalo QTc en el ECG) que puede ocurrir en determinadas enfermedades del corazón, consulte con su médico.

Si es mayor de 65 años consulte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Niños

Este medicamento no debe utilizarse en niños menores de 12 años de edad.

Otros medicamentos y Rinialer

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Si está tomando Rinialer, no tome medicamentos que contengan ketoconazol (medicamento para las infecciones fungicas ) o eritromicina (medicamento para infecciones bacterianas).

Si está tomando medicamentos depresores del sistema nervioso central, medicamentos con estatinas (medicamentos usados para tratar elevados niveles de colesterol) o midazolam (medicamento utilizado para sedación de corta duración), consulte con su médico antes de tomar Rinialer.

Toma de Rinialer con los alimentos, bebidas y alcohol

No debe tomar Rinialer en combinación con zumo de pomelo debido a que puede aumentar el nivel de rupatadina en su organismo.

Rinialer, a la dosis recomendada de 10 mg, no incrementa la somnolencia producida por el alcohol.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

No es de esperar que a la dosis recomendada Rinialer tenga un efecto sobre su capacidad de conducir vehículos o manejar maquinaria. No obstante, cuando usted utilice Rinialer por primera vez, debe tener la precaución de ver como puede afectarle el tratamiento antes de conducir o utilizar máquinas.

Rinialer contiene lactosa.

Si su médico le ha informado de que usted padece intolerancia a algunos azúcares, consulte a sumédico antes de tomar este medicamento.

3. Cómo tomar Rinialer

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Rinialer se administra en adolescentes (a partir de 12 años de edad) y adultos. La dosis recomendada es de un comprimido (10 mg de rupatadina) una vez al día con o sin alimentos. Ingiera el comprimido con una cantidad suficiente de líquido (p. ej., un vaso de agua).

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Rinialer.

Si toma más Rinialer del que debe

En caso de ingestión accidental de dosis elevadas del medicamento, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o bien al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 915 620 420.

Si olvidó tomar Rinialer

Tome su dosis lo antes posible y continúe con sus comprimidos en los tiempos habituales. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Los efectos adversos frecuentes (puede afectar hasta 1 de cada 10 pacientes) son somnolencia, dolor de cabeza, vértigo, sequedad de boca, sensación de debilidad y fatiga.

Los efectos adversos poco frecuentes (puede afectar hasta 1 de cada 100 pacientes) son aumento del apetito, irritabilidad, dificultad en la concentración, hemorragia nasal, sequedad nasal, dolor de garganta, tos, sequedad de garganta, rinitis, náusea, dolor abdominal, diarrea, indigestión, vómitos, estreñimiento, erupción, dolor de espalda, dolor de las articulaciones, dolor muscular, sed, malestar, fiebre, pruebas de la función hepática anormales y aumento de peso.

Los efectos adversos raros (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 1.000 pacientes) son palpitaciones, aumento del ritmo cardiaco y reacciones alérgicas (picor, urticaria e hinchazón de la cara, labios, lengua o garganta).

5. Conservación de Rinialer

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja y el blíster. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Conservar en el cartonaje exterior para preservar los comprimidos de la luz.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite la caja y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Rinialer

El principio activo es rupatadina. Cada comprimido contiene 10 mg de rupatadina (como fumarato).Los demás componentes son: almidón de maiz pregelatinizado, celulosa microcristalina, óxido de hierro rojo (E-172), óxido de hierro amarillo (E-172), lactosa monohidrato y estearato de magnesio. Ver sección 2, “Rinialer contiene lactosa”.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase:

Rinialer son comprimidos redondos de color salmón claro y se presentan en blísters de dosis unitarias conteniendo 15 ó 20 comprimidos. No todos los envases se comercializan.
