1. Qué es p-toluendiamina SmartPractice y para qué se utiliza

p-toluendiamina SmartPractice es un agente de diagnóstico. Contiene p-toluendiamina que puede desencadenar alergias de contacto en la piel.

La dermatitis alérgica de contacto es una respuesta inflamatoria de la piel causada por la exposición repetida a sustancias extrañas a las que usted es alérgico.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar p-toluendiamina SmartPractice

No use p-toluendiamina SmartPractice

  • Si su estado general de salud se encuentra significativamente afectado (p. ej., tiene una infección).
  • Si es alérgico a alguno de los componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si, en el momento de la prueba, tiene dermatitis grave o generalizada. El área de prueba debe estar libre de cualquier afección de la piel durante 14 días antes de realizar la prueba de parche.

3. Cómo usar p-toluendiamina SmartPractice

Método de adminstración

Durante la prueba del parche el profesional sanitario realizará los siguientes pasos:

  • Para la prueba de alergia, se aplica una franja de 5 mm de pomada directamente sobre el área designada del panel de la prueba de parche.
  • A continuación, se aplica el panel de la prueba sobre la piel sana y seca (normalmente en la espalda o en la parte superior del brazo).

Duración del tratamiento

  • La prueba de parche se retirará 48 horas después de la aplicación.
  • Su médico leerá el resultado de la prueba 30 minutos después de retirarla y de nuevo al cabo de 1 y 2 días, cuando las reacciones alérgicas se hayan desarrollado por completo y hayan desaparecido posibles reacciones irritantes.
  • La evaluación de las reacciones de la piel la llevará a cabo el médico siguiendo un protocolo establecido. Las instrucciones para esta evaluación se encuentran en la información para profesionales sanitarios (ver sección “Interpretación”).
  • Si experimenta molestias graves en la zona de prueba debe ponerse en contacto con su médico. Su médico puede decidir retirarle la prueba.

Uso en niñosy adolescentes

Los datos de estudios clínicos en niños son limitados.

Los niños menores de 12 años solo deben someterse a la prueba con p-toluendiamina SmartPractice cuando exista una fuerte sospecha de alergia de contacto a la p-toluendiamina. Su médico decidirá si debe hacerse la prueba.

La prueba de parche puede retirarse a las 24 horas para reducir las reacciones irritantes.

Si usa más p-toluendiamina SmartPractice del que debe

Si la prueba se usa correctamente, no es posible la sobredosis. Si se usa incorrectamente, puede provocar una reacción alérgica más fuerte, incluyendo ampollas en la piel. En estos casos, el médico tomará las medidas oportunas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de p-toluendiamina SmartPractice

Conservar en nevera (entre 2 ºC y 8 ºC).

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
