1. Qué es Ophtesic y para qué se utiliza

Ophtesic es un gel anestésico oftálmico utilizado durante procedimientos oftálmicos.

Este medicamento se utiliza para provocar una sensación temporal de pérdida de sensibilidad en el ojo antes y durante ciertos tipos de procedimientos realizados por el médico.

Este medicamento debería empezar a hacer efecto en los 5 minutos siguientes a que su médico lo aplique.

No use Ophtesic:

3. Cómo usar Ophtesic

Antes del procedimiento oftálmico el médico le aplicará este medicamento en su ojo(s).

Posología

El médico debe cubrir la superficie de su ojo(s) y la zona anexa con el gel 5 minutos antes del procedimiento.

La dosis recomendada es de 1 gramo extendido en la superficie del ojo. Esta dosis suele ser suficiente para conseguir una anestesia inicial. Se podrá utilizar una cantidad adicional dependiendo del tamaño del ojo y la duración del procedimiento.

1 gramo corresponde aproximadamente a un tercio del tubo.

El médico no debe utilizar más de un tubo por ojo o por procedimiento.

Se puede volver a aplicar el gel para mantener el efecto anestésico.

Modo de administración

Su médico debe proceder de la siguiente manera:

  1. La cubierta de papel del blíster se debe retirar y, a continuación, se deben sacar el tubo y la boquilla del blíster estéril. Se debe comprobar su integridad.

5. Conservación de Ophtesic

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el tubo y en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25?C.

El producto es para un único uso y se debe desechar inmediatamente después de su uso.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Ophtesic

  • El principio activo es lidocaína: 1 gramo de gel contiene 20 mg de hidrocloruro de lidocaína (anhidra).
  • El resto de ingredientes son: Hipromelosa (E464), hidróxido de sodio (E524) (para el ajuste de pH), ácido clorhídrico (E507) (para el ajuste de pH), y agua para preparaciones inyectables.
