1. Qué es LINEASUL y para qué se utiliza

LINEASUL es un medicamento a base de plantas que se utiliza para el tratamiento de corta duración del estreñimiento ocasional.

LINEASUL es una asociación de laxantes vegetales, es decir que estimulan la actividad intestinal favoreciendo la evacuación de las heces.

2. tomar LINEASUL

No tome LINEASUL:

  • Si es alérgico a los principios activos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece un dolor abdominal de origen desconocido.
  • Si está sufriendo o ha sufrido recientemente diarreas o vómitos con pérdida importante de líquidos o minerales.
  • Si padece cambios súbitos en el hábito intestinal que persisten más de 2 semanas.
  • Si padece obstrucción intestinal y estenosis, atonía, apendicitis, enfermedades inflamatorias de colon (como puede ser la Enfermedad de Crohn, colitis ulcerosa).
  • Si padece nefritis (inflamación de los riñones).
  • Si padece hepatitis (inflamación del hígado).
  • No administre este medicamento a niños menores de 12 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar LINEASUL:

  • Si está tomando otros medicamentos como glucósidos cardiotónicos, medicamentos para las arritmias, medicamentos que induzcan la prolongación del intervalo QT, diuréticos, corticoides o raíz de regaliz.
  • No debe utilizarse a diario durante un periodo prolongado de tiempo.
  • El abuso puede provocar diarrea, con la consiguiente pérdida de líquido y electrolitos (principalmente una disminución de potasio).
  • El abuso a largo plazo también puede agravar el estreñimiento.
  • El empleo crónico puede provocar la pigmentación del colon (pseudomelanosis colónica), que es inocua y desaparecerá al retirar el tratamiento.
  • Si necesita tomar laxantes frecuentemente, la causa del estreñimiento debe ser investigada.

Niños y adolescentes

No administrar a niños menores de 12 años.

Uso de LINEASUL con otros medicamentos

Comunique a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

El uso prolongado de laxantes puede provocar una disminución de los niveles de potasio que pueden aumentar la acción de otros medicamentos que se administran para el corazón (antiarrítmicos, diuréticos, corticosteroides y/o raíz de regaliz).

No se recomienda su administración a pacientes con tratamiento a base de glucósidos cardiotónicos (fármacos que regulan la actividad cardiaca) y fármacos antiarrítmicos (p. ej.: quinidina), porque su absorción podría modificarse.

La acción de este medicamento sobre el tránsito intestinal podría modificar los niveles de otros medicamentos que se tomarán al tiempo por vía oral.

Toma de LINEASUL con alimentos y bebidas

Los alimentos y las bebidas no tienen influencia sobre el efecto del medicamento.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Este preparado se elimina en pequeñas cantidades por la leche materna y, aunque no se tienen datos de los posibles efectos laxantes que éstos puedan tener en los lactantes, no se recomienda su empleo en estas circunstancias.

Conducción y uso de máquinas:

No se han descrito efectos sobre la capacidad de conducción y uso de máquinas.

3. Cómo tomar LINEASUL

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento, contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

LINEASUL se administra por vía oral.

La dosis recomendada es: 1 bolsa al día, preparada tisana, preferiblemente antes de acostarse.

Se debe tomar la menor dosis suficiente para producir el efecto deseado. En general será suficiente tomar una infusión (preparada con una bolsita) dos o tres días en la semana de tratamiento.

Cada bolsita de 1,4 g contiene aproximadamente 15,8 mg heterósidos hidroxiantracénicos expresados como senósido B y 11,9 mg de heterósidos hidroxiantracénicos expresados como glucofrangulinas A.

La dosis máxima diaria recomendada de derivados hidroxiantracénicos es de 30 mg, lo que corresponde a la toma de una bolsa por día.

El efecto laxante se produce generalmente de 6 a 12 horas después de la administración oral.

El tratamiento será de corta duración, con un tiempo recomendado máximo de 6 días.

Si los síntomas persisten, después de 4 días de tratamiento, se debe consultar al médico o farmacéutico.

Si estima que la acción de LINEASULes demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Uso en niños y adolescentes

No administrar a niños menores de 12 años.

La dosis recomendada para adolescentes es la misma que para los adultos.

La ingestión de dosis mucho mayores a las recomendadas del producto puede provocar un cuadro de actividad intestinal excesiva presentando dolor en el vientre, espasmos y una diarrea masiva con pérdida de agua y electrolitos. Si el desequilibrio electrolítico es grave puede producir confusión, arritmia cardiaca, calambres, cansancio o debilidad que pueden ser más acentuados en ancianos. Sin embargo, la posibilidad de intoxicación por el consumo de las tisanas es limitada.

Si ha tomado más LINEASULde lo que debe, consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad tomada.

Si olvidó tomar LINEASUL

N o tome un a dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Otra información sobre el tratamiento del estreñimiento

Aunque los hábitos intestinales no son iguales en todas las personas, se puede decir que existe estreñimiento cuando transcurren más de 3 días sin evacuar el intestino o cuando se interrumpe temporalmente la rutina de las deposiciones. También se considera que existe estreñimiento si las heces son escasas o duras y se produce dolor en la evacuación.

El estreñimiento se produce con frecuencia por la falta de ejercicio físico, también por ingerir poca cantidad de líquido o tomar comidas pobres en fibras. Por lo tanto, es importante seguir las siguientes recomendaciones para la prevención del estreñimiento, que pueden evitarle el uso de laxantes:

  • Debe cambiar sus hábitos alimenticios. Ingiera alimentos ricos en fibra, frutas, verduras, legumbres, etc.
  • Beba gran cantidad de agua.
  • Evite el sedentarismo realizando ejercicio físico de forma regular.
  • Cuando sienta la necesidad de ir al baño, no lo deje para luego.
  • Intente que las defecaciones se produzcan siempre a la misma hora.
  • Procure dedicar tiempo suficiente para que la defecación se realice sin prisas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamentopuede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

  • Se pueden producir reacciones de hipersensibilidad (alergia).
  • Al inicio del tratamiento y dependiendo de la dosis pueden aparecer algunas molestias como flatulencia (gases), espasmos intestinales, dolor que desaparece a los pocos días sin necesidad de suspender el tratamiento.
  • Puede aparecer una coloración de la orina amarillenta o rojo parduzca (según el pH), que carece de importancia clínica.

5. Conservación de LINEASUL

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

  • 168 mg de Corteza de Rhamnus frangula L.*

Cómo preparar la infusión

Introducir una bolsita en unos 150 ml de agua a punto de hervir, dejarla en reposo de 3 a 5 minutos. Se puede añadir azúcar u otra sustancia edulcorante.
