1. Qué es Lebersal y para qué se utiliza

Lebersal está indicado para el alivio y tratamiento de síntomas relacionados con los trastornos digestivos como:

  • Estreñimiento crónico o accidental
  • Acidez de estómago
  • Digestiones pesadas
  • Trastornos digestivos debidos a excesos de bebidas alcohólicas o de alimentos.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Lebersal

No tomeLebersal:

  • Si es alérgico al bicarbonato sódico, al fosfato disódico anhidro, al sulfato sódico anhidro, al sulfato magnésico anhidro o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece desequilibrio electrolítico (alteración del contenido de agua o electrolitos), hipernatremia (nivel elevado de sodio en sangre) o procesos diarreicos.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Lebersal:

  • Si padece insuficiencia cardiaca.
  • Si padece insuficiencia renal (enfermedad del riñón).
  • Si es propenso a la retención de agua (edemas).
  • Si está sometido a dietas hiponatrémicas (bajas en sal).
  • Si padece de hipertensión.
  • Durante el tratamiento con diuréticos (medicamentos que aumentan la eliminación de orina).
  • Si está embarazada o en período de lactancia.

Toma deLebersalcon otros medicamentos:

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

No debe suministarse conjuntamente con otros medicamentos administrados por vía oral ya que puede afectar su absorción, como es el caso de tetraciclinas, ketoconazol, cimetidina, ranitidina, famotidina, mecamilamina, metenamina, bifosfonatos, digoxina, indometacina, sales de hierro, litio, salicilatos y naproxeno.

Por contener bicarbonato sódico y sulfato de magnesio puede disminuir la eliminación en orina de anfetaminas y quinidina.

Las sales de aluminio, calcio o magnesio, podrían disminuir la absorción de Lebersal por su contenido en fosfato. Por otro lado, la vitamina D aumenta la absorción de fosfato, de manera que podría provocar hiperfosfatemia (exceso de fosfato en sangre).

La administración con medicamentos que afectan los electrolitos séricos (minerales que se encuentran en sangre) como diuréticos, bloqueadores de los canales del calcio, tratamiento con litio, puede llevar a niveles elevados en sangre de fosfato (hiperfosfatemia), de sodio (hipernatremia), magnesio (hipermagnesemia) y niveles bajos de calcio (hipocalcemia).

Además, si se toma junto con suplementos de calcio puede aumentarse el riesgo de calcificación ectópica (depósitos de sales de calcio en tejidos extraesqueléticos).

En cualquier caso, si fuese necesario tomar estos medicamentos se separarían las tomas como mínimo dos horas.

Toma de Lebersal con alimentos y bebidas

No tomar con el estómago demasiado lleno de comida o bebida, ya que puede causar un aumento de la producción de dióxido de carbono lo que originaría una distensión gástrica y en raras ocasiones puede perforar las paredes del estómago.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No se recomienda su uso durante el embarazo. La presencia de bicarbonato sódico en Lebersal puede inducir alcalosis metabólica (trastorno del equilibrio de agua y sales minerales en sangre), retención de agua y aumento de peso, tanto en la madre como en el feto.

No se recomienda su toma durante la lactancia, pues se desconoce si Lebersal se excreta en la leche materna.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

No se han descrito efectos del Lebersal sobre la capacidad de conducir vehículos o manejar maquinaria.

Lebersalcontiene sodio

Este medicamento contiene 470 mg de sodio (componente principal de la sal de mesa/para cocinar) en 2,5 gramos. Esto equivale al 24% de la ingesta diaria máxima de sodio recomendada para un adulto.

Consulte con su médico o farmacéutico si necesita una cucharadita o más diaria por un período prolongado especialmente si le han recomendado una dieta baja en sal (sodio).

3. Cómo tomar Lebersal

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico, o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Lebersal se administra por vía oral.

La dosis recomendada es de 1 ó 2 cucharaditas (2,5 ó 5 g) en ayunas o antes de las principales comidas. Se vierte el granulado en medio vaso de agua.

Puede tomarse antes o después de la efervescencia.

Es recomendable no tomar más de 4 cucharaditas al día.

Si toma másLebersaldel que debe

Consulte inmediatamente a su médico o a su farmacéutico. Dosis por encima de las recomendadas de Lebersal pueden producir diarrea, dolores de cabeza, nauseas, vómitos, calambres abdominales, debilidad, pérdida de apetito. A dosis muy elevadas, en tratamientos prolongados, puede llegar a producir alcalosis metabólica.

El tratamiento que se le aplicará irá destinado a paliar los síntomas y recuperar el equilibrio en el contenido de agua y electrolitos en sangre.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada/ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Lebersal

Mantenga Lebersal fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Mantener el frasco perfectamente cerrado para protegerlo de la humedad.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
