1. Qué es frispec y para qué se utiliza

Guaifenesina, principio activo de este medicamento pertenece al grupo de los medicamentos denominados expectorantes.

Está indicado para aliviar la tos productiva disminuyendo las flemas (mocos) y facilitando su expulsión.

Para adultos y niños mayores de 2 años.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 7 días de tratamiento.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar frispec

No tome frispec:

  • Si es alérgico a la guaifenesina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6)
    • Los niños menores de 2 años no pueden tomar este medicamento.

Advertencias y precauciones:

Consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero antes de empezar a tomar Frispec si:

  • Ha tenido tos durante más de 7 días o si su tos es recurrente o va acompañada de fiebre, erupción o dolor de cabeza persistente

Este medicamento no se debe utilizar durante el embarazo a no ser que su médico se lo recete.

Conducción y uso de máquinas:

Si durante el tratamiento con este medicamento nota mareos, no conduzca ni utilice máquinas.

frispec contiene sacarosa, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo, glicerol, benzoato sódico y sodio

Este medicamento contiene sacarosa. Si su médico le ha indicado que padece una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, consulte con él antes de tomar este medicamento.

Los pacientes con diabetes mellitus deben tener en cuenta que este medicamento contiene 9,75 g de sacarosa por cada 15 ml.

Puede provocar reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) porque contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218).

Este medicamento puede provocar dolor de cabeza, molestias de estómago y diarrea porque contiene glicerol.

Este medicamento contiene 0,1 g de sal de ácido benzoico en cada unidad de volumen equivalente a 0,1 g / peso volumen.

3. Cómo tomar frispec

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero. En caso de duda consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años: administrar 30 ml (195 mg) cada 4 horas si fuera necesario.

Mayores de 65 años: la misma que para los adultos.

Pacientes con enfermedad renal/hepática: deben consultar al médico.

Uso en niños

Niños de 6 a 12 años: administrar 15 ml (97,5 mg) cada 4 horas si fuera necesario.

Niños de 2 a 5 años: administrar bajo control médico 7,5 ml (48,75 mg) cada 4 horas si fuera necesario.

Niños menores de 2 años: está contraindicado

Forma de administración

Este medicamento se toma por vía oral.

Agite el frasco antes de usar. Medir la cantidad a tomar con la cucharilla que viene en el envase.

El jarabe se puede tomar solo o mezclado con agua. Debe tomar un vaso de agua después de tomar cada dosis.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 7 días de tratamiento

Si toma más frispec del que debe:

Si toma más medicamento del que debe, puede notar molestias de estómago, náuseas, diarrea y somnolencia.

La toma prolongada y de altas dosis de este medicamento puede producir cálculos urinarios.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consultar al médico, acudir a un centro médico o llamar al Servicio de Información Toxicológica (teléfono: 91 562 04 20), indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, frispec puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Se pueden producir: náuseas, vómitos, diarrea, molestias de estómago, dolor de cabeza y mareo.

5. Conservación de frispec

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de frispec:

  • El principio activo es guaifenesina. Cada ml de jarabe contiene 6,5 mg de guaifenesina
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218), esencia de anís, esencia de pino, benzoato sódico (E-211), sacarosa, glicerol (E-422), sacarina sódica y agua purificada.
