1. Qué es FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos y para qué se utiliza

Famotidina pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos llamados antagonistas de los receptores H2 de la histamina. Famotidina reduce la cantidad de ácido que se produce en el estómago.

Famotidina está indicada:

  • Tratamiento y recaídas de la úlcera duodenal y gástrica
  • Tratamiento de la inflamación del esófago (esofagitis por reflujo)
  • Prevención de la esofagitis por reflujo
  • Tratamiento del ardor de estómago y la regurgitación ácida.
  • Tratamiento del síndrome de Zollinger Ellison

2. ANTES DE TOMAR FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos

No tome FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos:

si es alérgico (hipersensible) a famotidina, a otros antagonistas de los receptores H2 o a cualquiera de los otros componentes de Famotidina Mabo 20 mg

Tenga especial cuidado con FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos:

  • Si su médico no ha descartado la existencia de neoplasia gástrica antes de iniciar el tratamiento con Famotidina. El alivio sintomático de la úlcera gástrica durante el tratamiento no descarta la presencia de una úlcera gástrica maligna.
  • Debe utilizarse con precaución en pacientes con disfunción hepática o renal moderada o severa. Se han notificado reacciones adversas sobre el SNC en pacientes con insuficiencia renal moderada y severa, pudiendo ser necesario ampliar el intervalo de dosificación o disminuir la dosis.
  • Si toma Famotidina Mabo desde hace tiempo, probablemente su médico le hará controles de forma regular. En las visitas a su médico, debe informarle de cualquier síntoma y circunstancias nuevas o anómalas.

Uso en niños

No se ha establecido la seguridad y la eficacia de este medicamento en niños.

Uso en mayores de 65 años

Los pacientes mayores de 65 años solo precisan ajuste de dosis en caso de insuficiencia renal moderada o severa.

Uso de otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos incluso los adquiridos sin receta médica.

  • Carbonato cálcico, cuando se utiliza para tratar niveles de fosforo en sangre elevados (hiperfosfatemia) en pacientes en diálisis.
  • Famotidina puede disminuir el efecto de la suspensión oral de posaconazol (medicamento para beber utilizado para prevenir y tratar algunas infecciones por hongos).
  • Famotidina puede disminuir el efecto de dasatinib, erlotinib, gefitinib o pazopanib (medicamentos utilizados para tratar el cáncer).

Toma de Famotidina Mabo con los alimentos y bebidas:

Tome los comprimidos con ayuda de un poco de agua. No importa si toma FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg con alimentos.

La suspensión del tratamiento se realizará siempre de forma gradual y bajo criterio médico para evitar recaídas.

Embarazo y lactancia

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar un medicamento.

Embarazo:

El tratamiento con Famotidina no se recomienda en el embarazo. Debe informar a su médico si está embarazada, cree que puede estarlo o si tiene previsto quedarse embarazada.

Lactancia

Famotidina pasa a leche materna. Las madres lactantes deben suspender el tratamiento con Famotidina o interrumpir la lactancia.

3. Cómo TOMAR FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg indicadas por su médico.

Su médico le indicará cuántos comprimidos al día debe tomar y durante cuánto tiempo.

Si estima que la acción de este medicamento es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Los comprimidos de Famotidina Mabo 20 mg se administra por vía oral. Tomar cada comprimido con una cantidad suficiente de líquido.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Tratamiento de la úlcera duodenal:La dosis normal es de 2 Comprimidos (40 mg de Famotidina) por la noche. También puede administrarse un comprimido (20 mg de Famotidina) cada 12 horas. El tratamiento debe mantenerse de 4 a 8 semanas

Tratamiento de la úlcera gástrica benigna:La dosis normal es de 2 Comprimidos (40 mg de Famotidina) por la noche. El tratamiento debe mantenerse de 4 a 8 semanas.

Tratamiento de mantenimiento de la úlcera gástrica o duodenal:se recomienda 1 comprimido (20 mg de Famotidina) por la noche. Su médico le indicará durante cuánto tiempo debe tomar el medicamento.

Tratamiento de la enfermedad por reflujo gastroesofágico (ERGE):La dosis recomendada es de 1 comprimido (20 mg de Famotidina) dos veces al día. Si a las 4-8 semanas no mejora, consulte a su médico.

Cicatrización de la úlcera asociada a reflujo gastroesofágico:la dosis recomendada es de 2 comprimidos (40 mg de Famotidina) dos veces al día. Si a las 4-8 semanas no mejora, consulte a su médico.

Síndrome de Zollinger-Ellison:normalmente el tratamiento empezará con una dosis de 1 comprimido (20 mg de Famotidina) cada 6 horas. El médico posteriormente ajustará la dosis en función de las necesidades de cada paciente.

Ajuste de dosis en pacientes con insuficiencia renal moderada o severa:En pacientes adultos con insuficiencia renal moderada o severa se puede reducir la dosis de Famotidina a la mitad o alargar el intervalo de dosificación a 36-48 h según su respuesta.

Las reacciones adversas en casos de sobredosis son similares a las reacciones adversas encontradas en la experiencia clínica normal.

Si olvidó tomar FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos:

Si olvidó tomar una dosis, tómela cuanto antes a menos que la hora de la siguiente dosis esté próxima. En este caso, sáltese la dosis olvidada y tome los comprimidos siguientes según lo habitual. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg

No interrumpa el tratamiento antes de tiempo porque los síntomas hayan mejorado. Es posible que su afección no se haya curado por completo y pueda volver a aparecer si no finaliza todo el tratamiento.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos puede tener efectos adversos aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Raramente se han descrito diarrea, cefalea, mareos y estreñimiento.

Otros efectos secundarios aún más infrecuentes incluyeron: fatiga, sequedad de boca, náuseas y vómitos, molestias abdominales o distensión, exceso de gases intestinales, pérdida de apetito, erupción cutánea, prurito, urticaria, alteraciones de enzimas hepáticos, ictericia colestática, anafilaxia, angioedema y artralgia. Ha sido comunicada muy raramente pérdida de cabello y necrolisis epidérmica tóxica con antagonistas de los receptores H2.

No obstante no se puede, por el momento excluir la posibilidad de aparición de otros efectos adversos del tipo de los observados en otros antagonistas H2.

5. Conservación de FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg Comprimidos

Mantener fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación. Conservar en el envase original.

Caducidad

No utilice FAMOTIDINA MABO 20 mg después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el punto SIGRE de la farmacia. ENCASO de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente
