1. Qué es Ebastina Vir y para qué se utiliza

Ebastina, el componente activo de Ebastina Vir, pertenece a un grupo de fármacos denominados antihistamínicos.

Este medicamento se utiliza en el tratamiento de procesos alérgicos tales como rinitis alérgica estacional o perenne asociada o no a conjuntivitis alérgica (como descargas nasales, picor de nariz, picor de ojos, lagrimeo, ganas de estornudar), urticaria crónica y dermatitis alérgica.

2. Qué necesita saber antesantes de empezar a tomar Ebastina Vir

No tome Ebastina Vir

  • si es alérgico a ebastina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico antes de empezar a tomar Ebastina Vir:

  • Si presenta un cuadro alérgico agudo de urgencia, ya que este medicamento tarda de 1 a 3 horas en hacer efecto.
  • Este medicamento puede interferir con los resultados de las pruebas alérgicas cutáneas, por lo que se aconseja no realizarlas hasta transcurridos 5-7 días desde la interrupción del tratamiento.
  • Puede potenciar los efectos de otros antihistamínicos.
  • En pacientes con insuficiencia hepática leve o moderada no es necesario ajustar la dosis. En pacientes con insuficiencia hepática grave no debe superarse la dosis de 10 mg/día de ebastina.

Este medicamento no debe ser administrado a niños menores de 6 años.

Ebastina puede interaccionar con eritromicina (medicamento antibiótico) o ketoconazol (medicamento para el tratamiento de infecciones producidas por hongos).

Embarazo y lactancia

No obstante, observe su respuesta a la medicación porque en algunos casos se ha producido somnolencia a las dosis habituales. Si fuera así, absténgase de conducir y manejar maquinaria peligrosa.

3. Cómo tomar Ebastina Vir

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con este medicamento. Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

La dosis normal recomendada en:

  • Adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años: 1 comprimido (10 mg de ebastina) una vez al día.
  • Niños entre 6 y 11 años: medio comprimido (5 mg de ebastina) una vez al día. El comprimido se puede partir en dosis iguales.

Los comprimidos de Ebastina Vir son para administración por vía oral. Los comprimidos deben tragarse enteros, sin masticarlos, con ayuda de un vaso de líquido, preferiblemente agua.

Si estima que la acción de este medicamento es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de Ebastina Vir

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesite en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia.
