1. Qué es Ebastina Tarbis 20 mg comprimidos y para qué se utiliza

Ebastina pertenece a un grupo de fármacos denominados antihistamínicos.

Ebastina TARBIS está indicado en el tratamiento sintomático de procesos alérgicos tales como rinitis alérgica estacional o perenne asociada o no a conjuntivitis alérgica (como descargas nasales, picor de nariz, picor de ojos, lagrimeo, ganas de estornudar), urticaria crónica y dermatitis alérgica.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Ebastina Tarbis 20 mg comprimidos

No tome Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos:

  • si es alérgico (hipersensible) a ebastina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos.

Tenga especial cuidado con Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos:

  • si presenta un cuadro alérgico agudo de urgencia, ya que ebastina tarda de 1 a 3 horas en hacer efecto.
  • Ebastina puede interferir con los resultados de las pruebas alérgicas cutáneas, por lo que se aconseja no realizarlas hasta transcurridos 5-7 días desde la interrupción del tratamiento.
  • Puede potenciar los efectos de otros antihistamínicos.
  • En pacientes con insuficiencia hepática leve o moderada no es necesario ajustar la dosis. En pacientes con insuficiencia hepática grave no debe superarse la dosis de 10 mg/día de ebastina, por lo que se recomienda el uso de Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos.

Uso de otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos, incluso los adquiridos sin receta médica, homeopáticos, plantas medicinales y otros productos relacionados con la salud, ya que puede ser necesario interrumpir el tratamiento o ajustar la dosis de alguno de ellos.

Ebastina puede interaccionar con eritromicina (medicamento antibiótico) o ketoconazol (medicamento para el tratamiento de infecciones producidas por hongos).

Embarazo y lactancia

3. Cómo tomar Ebastina Tarbis 20 mg comprimidos

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos indicadas por su médico. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas. En estos casos es conveniente solicitar al médico las instrucciones por escrito y asegurarse de haberlas entendido bien.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos. No suspenda el tratamiento antes, ya que puede que empeoren sus síntomas.

La dosis recomendada en adultos y niños mayores de 12 años es de 1 comprimido (20 mg) una vez al día, independientemente de la toma de alimentos.

Los comprimidos de Ebastina TARBIS son para administración por vía oral. Los comprimidos deben tragarse enteros, sin masticarlos, con ayuda de un vaso de líquido, preferiblemente agua.

Si estima que la acción de Ebastina TARBIS es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Las reacciones adversas fueron leves o moderadas, transitorias y se resolvieron espontáneamente sin tratamiento específico.

Los efectos adversos descritos son los siguientes:

Frecuentes (pueden afectar a entre 1 y 100 de cada 100 pacientes): dolor de cabeza, somnolencia, sequedad de boca, faringitis, rinitis y cansancio.

Poco frecuentes (pueden afectar a entre 1 y 10 de cada 1.000 pacientes): dolor abdominal, molestias en la digestión, sangrado nasal, sinusitis, náusea e insomnio.

Frecuencia no conocida (no puede estimarse a partir de los datos disponibles): aumento de peso, aumento del apetito.

Si considera que alguno de los efectos adversos que sufre es grave o si aprecia cualquier efecto adverso no mencionado en este prospecto, informe a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de Ebastina Tarbis 20 mg comprimidos

Mantener fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilizar Ebastina TARBIS 20 mg comprimidos después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia o cualquier otro sistema de recogida de residuos de medicamentos. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
