How to use the Easyhaler inhaler

About your Easyhaler inhaler

Bufomix Easyhaler may be different from other inhalers you have used before. Therefore, it is very important that you use it correctly, otherwise, you may not receive the right amount of medication. This could make you feel unwell or may be the cause of your asthma or COPD not being treated properly.

Your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist will teach you how to use your inhaler correctly. Make sure you understand how to use it correctly. If you are unsure, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist again. As with all inhalers, caregivers must ensure that children prescribed Bufomix Easyhaler use the correct inhalation technique, as described below.

First use of the Easyhaler

The Easyhaler inhaler comes in an aluminum bag. Only remove it from the aluminum bag when you are ready to start using it, as it keeps the powder dry inside the inhaler.

When you are ready to start treatment, open the bag and note the opening date, for example, in your calendar.

Use the inhaler for 4 months from the date the aluminum bag is opened.

HOW TO USE CORRECTLY

Step 1: SHAKE

  • Remove the cap
  • Shake the inhaler3to5times, holding it in a vertical position

SHAKE x 3 – 5

Important points to remember

  • It is essential to keep the inhaler in a vertical position
  • If you accidentally activate the inhaler while shaking it, empty the powder from the mouthpiece as shown below

Step 2: ACTIVATE

  • Hold the inhaler in a vertical position between your thumb and index finger
  • Press it until you hear a "click," then release it to return to its initial position. This releases the medication dose
  • Press only once

ACTIVATE x 1

Important points to remember

  • The inhaler will not activate if the cap is still in place
  • Only press once
  • If you accidentally press it more than once, empty the powder from the mouthpiece as shown below
  • Activate to release the dose before inhaling it, not at the same time
  • Keep the inhalerin a vertical positionwhile activating it and while inhaling the dose. If you tilt it, the powder may fall out and you will not be able to inhale it

Step 3: INHALE

  • Keep the inhaler in a vertical position
  • Breathe normally
  • Place the mouthpiece in your mouth between your teeth and close your lips firmly around the mouthpiece
  • Inhale deeply and energetically
  • Remove the inhaler from your mouth, then breathe normally

INHALE

Important points to remember

  • Make sure the mouthpiece is completely placed in your mouth, so the powder can reach your lungs
  • Make sure your lips are firmly closed around the mouthpiece
  • Do not exhale into the inhaler. This is important because it may block the inhaler. If you exhale into the inhaler, empty the powder from the mouthpiece (see below)

If you need to take a second inhalation, repeat steps 1 to 3: Shake-Activate-Inhale.

After using the inhaler:

  • Put the cap back on the mouthpiece. This will prevent the inhaler from accidentally activating.
  • After inhaling, rinse your mouth with water and then spit it out.

How to empty the powder from the mouthpiece

If you accidentally activate the inhaler or if you have accidentally pressed it more than once, or if you have exhaled into the inhaler, empty the powder from the mouthpiece.

  • Gently tap the mouthpiece on a table or the palm of your hand.
  • Start again with the steps: Shake-Activate-Inhale

Cleaning the Easyhaler inhaler

Keep your inhaler dry and clean. If necessary, you can clean the mouthpiece with a dry cloth. Do not use water: the powder inside the Easyhaler inhaler is sensitive to moisture.

Using the Easyhaler with a protective cover

You can use a protective cover with the inhaler. This will help extend the product's durability. The first time you place the inhaler in the protective cover, make sure the cap covers the mouthpiece of the inhaler, as this will prevent the inhaler from accidentally activating. You can use the inhaler without removing it from the protective cover.

Follow the instructions indicated above,1.Shake - 2. Activate - 3. Inhale.

Remember:

  • Keep the inhaler in a vertical position when activating it
  • Put the cap back on the mouthpiece after taking the dose, to prevent the inhaler from accidentally activating.

When to start using a new inhaler

The inhaler has a dose counter that informs you of the number of doses (inhalations) remaining in your inhaler. The dose counter moves every 5 activations. When the dose counter starts to turn red, there are 20doses left.

If you do not yet have a new Easyhaler inhaler, contact your doctor for a new prescription. When the indicator reaches 0(zero), you will need to replace the inhaler.

If you use a protective cover, store it and insert the new inhaler.

Remember

  • 1. Shake – 2. Activate – 3. Inhale
  • After inhaling, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out
  • Prevent the inhaler from getting wet and protect it from moisture

If you have any other questions about using this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
