1. Qué es Juanolgar y para qué se utiliza

El principio activo de este medicamento es bencidamina hidrocloruro. Es un antiinflamatorio de uso tópico bucal.

Juanolgar está indicado en adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años para el alivio local sintomático de las irritaciones de la garganta y de la boca que cursen con dolor y sin fiebre.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Juanolgar

No use Juanolgar

  • Si es alérgico a la bencidamina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

  • Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Juanolgar.
  • Si usted presenta alergia al ácido salicílico y/u otros analgésicos o antiinflamatorios (crisis asmáticas, etc…), el uso de Juanolgar no está recomendado.
  • En pacientes que hayan sufrido o que sufran asma bronquial, puede provocar broncoespasmo (sensación repentina de ahogo), por lo que estos pacientes deben tener precaución.

Niños:

No se aconseja usarlo en niños menores de 12 años, salvo mejor consejo médico.

Uso de Juanolgar con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Uso de Juanolgar con los alimentos, bebidas y alcohol

No se debe comer ni beber hasta 1 hora después de utilizar el medicamento.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, si cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar este medicamento.

No debe utilizar Juanolgar durante el embarazo a menos que sea claramente necesario y su médico se lo aconseje. Si necesita tratamiento, debe utilizar la dosis más baja durante el menor tiempo posible.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

El uso tópico de la bencidamina, a las dosis indicadas, no altera la capacidad de conducir ni la utilización de otras máquinas.

Juanolgar contiene alcohol (etanol), hidroxiestearato de macrogolglicerol, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo y aroma de menta.

Este medicamento contiene 13,6 mg de alcohol (etanol) en cada pulverización. La cantidad en volumen de este medicamento es equivalente a menos de 0,34 ml de cerveza o 0,14 ml de vino. La pequeña cantidad de alcohol que contiene este medicamento no produce ningún efecto perceptible.

Este medicamento contiene hidroxiestearato de macrogolglicerol que puede provocar molestias de estómago y diarrea.

Este medicamento contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo que puede provocar reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas).

Este medicamento contiene fragancias (aroma de menta) con alcohol bencílico, citronelol, d-limoneno, eugenol, geraniol y linalol. El alcohol bencílico, citronelol, d-limoneno, eugenol, geraniol y linalol pueden provocar reacciones alérgicas.

3. Cómo usar Juanolgar

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años:

Aplicar de 1 a 3 pulverizaciones al día durante 4-6 días. No se debe comer ni beber hasta después de 1 hora de utilizar el medicamento.

En un número limitado de pacientes, las ulceraciones bucofaríngeas suelen ser signo de patologías graves. Por lo tanto los pacientes en los que los síntomas no desaparecen en 2 días, empeoran o aparece fiebre deben consultar al médico o dentista.

El tratamiento no debe exceder los 6 días.

No se aconseja usarlo en niños menores de 12 años, salvo mejor criterio médico.

Este medicamento se utiliza por vía bucofaríngea.

Levantar la cánula pulverizadora.

Introducir la cánula en la boca y dirigir la pulverización hacia la zona dolorida. Apretar con el dedo sobre la zona rayada del pulsador.

En el primer uso del producto, apretar el pulsador varias veces al vacío hasta obtener una pulverización regular.

Si usa más Juanolgar del que debe

Debido a su uso tópico, no es probable que se produzcan cuadros de intoxicación. No obstante, si utiliza más Juanolgar del recomendado, aunque sea muy raramente, podrá sentir: excitación, convulsiones, sudores, alteraciones en la marcha, temblores y vómitos en niños.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental de grandes cantidades de medicamento, consulte inmediatamente con su médico o farmacéutico para que le aconseje. También puede llamar al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Juanolgar puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

  • Poco frecuentes (al menos 1 de cada 1.000 pacientes): Fotosensibilidad (sensibilidad a la luz solar).
  • Raros (al menos 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes): Escozor, sequedad de boca.
  • Muy raros (menos de 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes): Laringospasmo (contracción de los músculos de la laringe con sensación de ahogo) e hinchazón.

5. Conservación de Juanolgar

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase, después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Juanolgar

El principio activo es bencidamina hidrocloruro. Cada pulverización de 0,17 ml contiene 0,51 mg de bencidamina hidrocloruro.

Los demás componentes son: etanol 96%, glicerol, hidroxiestearato de macrogolglicerol 40, aroma de menta (contiene: alcohol bencílico, citronelol, d-limoneno, eugenol, geraniol y linalol), parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E-218), sacarina sódica y agua purificada.
