1. Qué es OFTALMOLOSA CUSÍ ERITROMICINA y para qué se utiliza

Es una pomada oftálmica (para los ojos) que contiene un antibiótico (eritromicina), que actúa frente a determinados microorganismos que causan infección en los ojos.

Los antibióticos se utilizan para tratar infecciones bacterianas y no sirven para tratar infecciones víricas.

Es importante que siga las instrucciones relativas a la dosis, el intervalo de administración y la duración del tratamiento indicadas por su médico.

No guarde ni reutilice este medicamento. Si una vez finalizado el tratamiento le sobra antibiótico, devuélvalo a la farmacia para su correcta eliminación. No debe tirar los medicamentos por el desagüe ni a la basura.

Este medicamento se utiliza para el tratamiento de infecciones oculares superficiales causadas por microorganismos sensibles a eritromicina; y como tratamiento preventivo de la oftalmía del recién nacido (conjuntivitis neonatal).

3. Cómo usar OFTALMOLOSA CUSÍ ERITROMICINA

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y niños

En el tratamiento de las infecciones oculares superficiales: Aplicar 1cm de pomada aproximadamente en el ojo(s) afectado(s) una o más veces al día, según la gravedad de la infección (hasta un máximo de 6 veces al día).

Recién nacidos

Una sola aplicación es suficiente en el tratamiento preventivo de la oftalmía del recién nacido.

Recomendaciones de uso:

  • Lávese las manos y sitúese delante de un espejo.
  • Coja el tubo de pomada.
  • Si la aplicación es dentro del ojo, separe hacia abajo el párpado con un dedo limpio. Aplíquese la pomada en la bolsa que se forma entre el párpado y el ojo.
  • Si la aplicación es fuera del ojo, aplique la pomada sobre la parte afectada directamente, sacando previamente las costras reblandeciéndolas con agua tibia.
  • Coloque la punta del tubo cerca del ojo. El espejo puede serle útil.
  • 2 -
    • Evite que la punta del tubo toque el ojo, el párpado, sus alrededores o cualquier otra superficie.
  • Presione suavemente el tubo para que salga la pomada.
  • Cierre el ojo(s) durante unos segundos después de aplicarse la pomada.
  • Cierre bien el tubo después de su utilización.

Si está utilizando otros medicamentos oftálmicos, espere al menos 5 minutos entre la administración de esta pomada y los otros medicamentos oftálmicos. Las pomadas oftálmicas deben administrarse en último lugar.

Si usa más Oftalmolosa Cusí Eritromicina del que debe

Una sobredosis en los ojos puede eliminarla lavando los ojos con agua templada. No se aplique más pomada hasta la siguiente dosis.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica. Teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada.

Si olvidó usar Oftalmolosa Cusí Eritromicina

No se aplique una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Aplíquesela en cuanto se dé cuenta y continúe con la siguiente dosis que estaba prevista. Sin embargo, si ya es casi la hora de la siguiente dosis, no se aplique la dosis olvidada y continúe con la siguiente dosis de su régimen habitual.

5. Conservación de OFTALMOLOSA CUSÍ ERITROMICINA

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el tubo y en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.

Para evitar infecciones, debe desechar el tubo 4 semanas después de haberlo abierto por primera vez.

Anote la fecha de apertura del tubo en el recuadro reservado para esta finalidad en la caja.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

  • El principio activo es eritromicina. Cada gramo de pomada contiene 5 mg de eritromicina (0,5%).
  • Los demás componentes son colesterol, parafina líquida y vaselina blanca.
