1. Qué es Lansoprazol VIR y para qué se utiliza

Lansoprazol VIR pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos denominados inhibidores de la bomba de protones que disminuyen la secreción de ácido del estómago.

Lansoprazol VIR está indicado en:

  • el tratamiento de mantenimiento de la esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico.

2. Antes de tomar Lansoprazol VIR

No tome Lansoprazol VIR

  • Si es alérgico a lansoprazol o a cualquiera de los componentes del medicamento.
  • Si está en periodo de lactancia.
  • Si padece una enfermedad grave del riñón.

Tenga especial cuidado con Lansoprazol VIR

  • Si usted tiene una enfermedad grave del hígado.
  • Si usted tiene alguna enfermedad del riñón.
  • Si alguna vez ha tenido una reacción en la piel después del tratamiento con un medicamento similar a Lansoprazol VIR para reducir la acidez de estómago.
  • Si sufre una erupción cutánea, especialmente en zonas de la piel expuestas al sol, consulte a su médico lo antes posible, ya que puede ser necesario interrumpir el tratamiento con Lansoprazol VIR. Recuerde mencionar cualquier otro síntoma que pueda notar, como dolor en las articulaciones.
  • Al tomar lansoprazol, puede producirse una inflamación en el riñón. Los signos y síntomas pueden incluir la disminución del volumen de orina o la presencia de sangre en la orina y/o reacciones de hipersensibilidad como fiebre, erupción cutánea y rigidez articular. Debe informar de estos signos a su médico.

Antes de tomar este medicamento, comunique a su médico si:

Uso de otros medicamentos

Ciertos medicamentos pueden interaccionar con Lansoprazol VIR; en estos casos puede resultar conveniente cambiar la dosis o interrumpir el tratamiento con alguno de los medicamentos. Es especialmente importante que informe a su médico si toma uno de los siguientes medicamentos:

  • Si usted toma antiácidos que contengan hidróxido de aluminio y magnesio o sucralfato ya que se aconseja esperar una hora antes de tomar Lansoprazol VIR.
  • Si usted toma algún tipo de anticoagulante como la warfarina.
  • Si usted toma medicamentos antiepilépticos como la fenitoína.
  • Si usted toma medicamentos que actúen sobre el sistema nervioso central como el diazepam.
  • Si usted toma teofilina.

Uso en niños

No se ha estudiado el uso de Lansoprazol VIR en niños y por lo tanto no se recomienda su uso.

Embarazo

Lactancia

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Lansoprazol VIR no afecta a la capacidad de conducción ni al manejo de maquinaria. Raramente se han comunicado casos de somnolencia o mareos. Si nota alguno de estos síntomas absténgase de conducir vehículos, utilizar máquinas o realizar cualquier actividad que requiera concentración.

3. Cómo tomar Lansoprazol VIR

Siga estas instrucciones a menos que su médico le haya dado otras indicaciones distintas.

En estos casos es conveniente solicitar al médico las instrucciones por escrito y asegurarse de haberlas entendido bien.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Lansoprazol VIR. No suspenda el tratamiento sin hablar antes con su médico.

Las cápsulas deben ser ingeridas con un poco de agua.

Para alcanzar el efecto óptimo se debe tomar por la mañana unos 30 minutos antes del desayuno.

Esofagitis por reflujo gastroesofágico

La dosis recomendada en el tratamiento de mantenimiento es de 1 cápsula de 15 mg al día.

Debido a que la experiencia con este medicamento es limitada, no se recomienda utilizar Lansoprazol VIR más allá de los periodos de tiempo recomendados.

Si usted tiene más de 65 años, no será necesario que su médico realice ningún ajuste en la dosis.

Si estima que la acción de Lansoprazol VIR es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si usted tomó más Lansoprazol VIR del que debiera

Si ha tomado un número de cápsulas superior al que le ha indicado el médico, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al servicio de información toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20 indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada. Se recomienda llevar el envase y el prospecto del medicamento al profesional sanitario.

Si olvidó tomar Lansoprazol VIR

Si olvida tomar una dosis, tómela en cuanto pueda.

No tome una dosis doble para compensar la dosis olvidada.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Como todos los medicamentos, Lansoprazol VIR puede provocar efectos adversos.

Los efectos adversos que se pueden producir mientras se está tomando este medicamento son: diarrea, estreñimiento, náuseas, vómitos, dolor abdominal, flatulencia, gastritis, tos, dolor de cabeza, somnolencia, fatiga y mareos. En algún paciente ocasionalmente ha aparecido enrojecimiento de la piel y picor. Generalmente estos síntomas son leves y desaparecen en el tiempo.

Frecuentes: Pólipos benignos en el estómago.

En raras ocasiones se han observado alteraciones en la analítica de sangre como: aumento del colesterol, triglicéridos, enzimas del hígado, aumento del potasio y del ácido úrico, disminución de los glóbulos blancos y plaquetas así como aumento de los eosinófilos (células sanguíneas), así como aumento de las proteínas en orina.

Frecuencia desconocida

Si usted está tomando Lansoprazol durante más de tres meses es posible que los niveles de magnesio en sangre puedan descender. Los niveles bajos de magnesio pueden causar fatiga, contracciones musculares involuntarias, desorientación, convulsiones, mareos, aumento del ritmo cardiaco. Si usted tiene algunos de estos síntomas, acuda al médico inmediatamente. Niveles bajos de magnesio también pueden producir una disminución de los niveles de potasio y calcio en sangre. Su médico puede decidir realizarle análisis de sangre periódicos para controlar los niveles de magnesio.

Si está tomando inhibidores de la bomba de protones como Lansoprazol VIR, especialmente durante un periodo de más de un año, puede aumentar ligeramente el riesgo de fractura de cadera, muñeca y columna vertebral. Informe a su médico si tiene osteoporosis o si está tomando corticosteroides (pueden incrementar el riesgo de osteoporosis).

Erupción cutánea, posiblemente con dolor en las articulaciones.

Alucinaciones visuales.

5. Conservación de Lansoprazol VIR

Conservar por debajo de 30ºC

Mantenga Lansoprazol VIR fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Mantener el envase bien cerrado después de cada uso.

Caducidad

No utilice Lansoprazol VIR después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Información adicional

Composición de Lansoprazol VIR 15 mg

El principio activo es lansoprazol. Cada cápsula contiene 15 mg de lansoprazol.

Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: Esferas de azúcar (sacarosa y almidón de maíz), carboximetilalmidón sódico de patata, laurilsulfato de sodio, povidona, fosfato de trisodio dodecahidrato, hipromelosa, copolimero de ácido metacrílico y acrilato de etilo, trietilcitrato, dióxido de titanio, talco.

Los componentes de la cápsula son: gelatina, dióxido de titanio (E-171)

La tinta de impresión de las cápsulas contiene: shellac, alcohol etílico anhidro, alcohol isopropílico, propilenglicol, n-butil alcohol, hidróxido amónico, hidróxido potásico, óxido de hierro negro (E-172).
