1. Qué es Glycilax adultos y para qué se utiliza

Este medicamento contiene glicerol, un laxante que se administra por vía rectal. El efecto laxante se consigue por la capacidad del glicerol de ablandar las heces que, junto a una ligera acción irritante local, consigue estimular los movimientos del intestino.

Está indicado para el alivio local sintomático del estreñimiento transitorio y ocasional en adultos y adolescentes a partir de 12 años de edad.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 7 días de tratamiento.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Glycilax adultos

No useGlycilax adultos

  • Si es alérgico al glicerol o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece alguna enfermedad anorectal, rectocolitis hemorrágica (un tipo de inflamación crónica del intestino) y hemorroides inflamadas.
  • Si tiene retortijones, cólicos, náuseas, vómitos u otros signos de apendicitis, obstrucción intestinal, enfermedades intestinales inflamatorias agudas o, en general, cualquier situación de dolor abdominal, sin conocer la causa que lo produce.
  • En niños menores de 12 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

  • En caso de la aparición de sangre en heces, irritación, dolor o que no note mejoría debe interrumpir el tratamiento y consultar al médico.
  • No use este medicamento más de 7 días seguidos, salvo que su médico se lo indique. Este medicamento se utilizará únicamente bajo estricto control médico en pacientes con enfermedades graves, especialmente cardiovasculares (relativas al corazón o a los vasos sanguíneos).

3. Cómo usar Glycilax adultos

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes a partir de 12 años de edad: 1 envase al día, cuando sea necesario, o según prescripción del médico.

Este medicamento es para uso por vía rectal, no debe ingerirlo.

Forma de administración:

Este medicamento se administra por vía rectal.

En el momento elegido para la administración, y una vez quitado el capuchón que cierra el extremo del envase en forma de cánula, colóquelo en posición vertical con la punta hacia arriba y oprima ligeramente para que unas gotas del medicamento humedezcan el extremo en forma de cánula, con objeto de facilitar su introducción en el recto. Una vez introducida en el recto, apretar el envase hasta vaciar totalmente el contenido del mismo y retirarlo suavemente sin dejar de presionar sobre sus paredes.

Reprimir la evacuación, manteniendo los glúteos apretados, el mayor tiempo posible para que el medicamento ejerza perfectamente su acción.

Aunque queden restos en el envase después de la administración, está asegurado el suministro de la dosis señalada. Cada envase contiene una dosis única de producto. Debe desecharse el mismo tras su uso.

Si en el momento de la aplicación nota resistencia, debe interrumpir la misma, ya que puede resultar perjudicial y dañina y consultar al médico.

No se debe utilizar el medicamento durante más de 7 días seguidos. Si los síntomas no mejoran debe suspender el tratamiento y acudir al médico.

Uso en niños

No administrar a niños menores de 12 años de edad.

No es probable que se produzcan cuadros de intoxicación debido a su uso.

El uso abusivo y prolongado de este medicamento puede dar lugar a un síndrome de colon irritable (síntomas o molestias como alternancia del estreñimiento y de la diarrea, espasmos intestinales, hinchazón, náuseas y gases).

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico, farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91.562.04.20 indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Durante el periodo de utilización de glicerol por vía rectal como laxante, se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos cuya frecuencia no se ha podido establecer con exactitud:

  • Picor, dolor e irritación del ano.
  • Muy raramente en pacientes alérgicos se han producido reacciones de hipersensibilidad a la manzanilla, (por ejemplo, dermatitis de contacto). Después de su uso interno éstas podrían ser graves, y podrían ser: hinchazón de la cara, labios, boca, lengua o garganta que causan dificultad al tragar o respirar.

5. Conservación de Glycilax adultos

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

  • El principio activo es glicerol. Cada envase unidosis contiene 6,75 g de glicerol.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: extracto fluido Malva flor, extracto fluido Matricaria chamomilla, carmelosa sódica y agua purificada.

Glycilax adultos es una solución rectal transparente y de color amarillento.

El medicamento se presenta en envases unidosis de 7,5 ml de polietileno con extremo en forma de cánula y tapón de cierre, que se envasan en estuches conteniendo 4 o 12 envases unidosis.
