1. Qué es Veoplore y para qué se utiliza

Este medicamento está indicado sólo para uso diagnóstico.

Se utiliza durante las pruebas de la función pulmonar y sirve para determinar, principalmente, la capacidad del pulmón para absorber el gas inhalado en el torrente sanguíneo, y puede utilizarse además, para determinar el volumen pulmonar.

Sólo se puede usar Veoplore en los pacientes con capacidad para efectuar la prueba, independientemente de la edad.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Veoplore

No use Veoplore

  • A menos que su médico solicite que se someta a pruebas de función pulmonar.
  • Si es alérgico al helio o al monóxido de carbono, o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si presenta signos y síntomas de intoxicación por monóxido de carbono.

Si tiene antecedentes de enfermedad coronaria, puede tener riesgo de depresión del segmento ST (una lectura anormal del electrocardiograma), provocado por el monóxido de carbono.

Durante la prueba podría producirse un pequeño aumento de la concentración sanguínea de carboxihemoglobina.

La inhalación de monóxido de carbono puede producir síntomas de disminución del aporte de oxígeno, como mareo, dolor torácico y sensación de desorientación. Si se produjera cualquier síntoma de esta naturaleza, se debe interrumpir inmediatamente el uso de este producto y, si fuera necesario, administrar tratamiento médico.

La inhalación de este gas medicinal durante las pruebas de función pulmonar no debe influir en la capacidad para conducir y utilizar máquinas.

3. Cómo usar Veoplore

Inhale siempre este gas medicinal exactamente como le haya indicado su médico o enfermero y sólo durante la prueba de función pulmonar. Consulte a su médico o enfermero si no está seguro.

Sólo su médico puede decidir la duración de la prueba de función pulmonar y la frecuencia de repetición de la prueba.

Si toma más Veoplore del que debe

Su médico o enfermero tomarán las medidas oportunas.

Mientras se inhala este gas medicinal durante un procedimiento de prueba de la función pulmonar, existen síntomas muy poco probables relacionados con la propia prueba de la función pulmonar, tales como mareo, dolor en el pecho y sensación de desorientación. Si se produjera cualquier síntoma de esta naturaleza durante la realización de la prueba, se debe suspender inmediatamente la inhalación de este gas medicinal y, si fuera necesario, administrar tratamiento médico.
