1. Qué es Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas y para qué se utiliza

El principio activo de Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas es el ácido ursodesoxicólico, el cual pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos llamados disolventes de los cálculos biliares.

Se utiliza para disolver los cálculos biliares de colesterol siempre que éstos sean radiotransparentes y la vesícula biliar sea funcionante (lo cual ha debido ser verificado realizando una prueba denominada colecistografía oral). Ursobilane también se utiliza para tratar una enfermedad rara de las vías biliares y el hígado denominada cirrosis biliar primaria.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

No tome Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

  • Si es alérgico al ácido ursodesoxicólico o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece úlcera gástrica o duodenal.
  • Si sufre de vesícula biliar no funcionante
  • Si tiene cálculos de colesterol calcificados, cálculos radio-opacos o cálculos de pigmentos biliares radiotransparentes.
  • Si padece alteraciones del hígado o del intestino que pueden interferir con la circulación sanguínea de las sales biliares.
  • Si usted está en periodo de lactancia.

Advertencias y precauciones

  • Si está tomando medicamentos que pueden producir un acúmulo biliar de colesterol, como estrógenos y anticonceptivos hormonales.

Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas no tiene efecto sobre la capacidad de conducir vehículos o utilizar maquinaria.

Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas contiene colorante amarillo anaranjado S (E-110)

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas porque contiene colorante amarillo anaranjado S (E-110).

Puede provocar asma, especialmente en pacientes alérgicos al ácido acetilsalicílico.

3. Cómo tomar Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas sólo se administra en adultos.

Las cápsulas se deben tragar enteras, sin masticar, con un poco de líquido. Si usted presenta dificultades para tragar, puede dispersar el polvo contenido en las cápsulas en un líquido.

Tome Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas preferentemente con las comidas.

La dosis recomendada para el tratamiento de los cálculos biliares es de 1 cápsula al día (8‑10 mg/kg/día).

Es importante que visite al médico con regularidad para que compruebe la evolución de su enfermedad. Mientras toma este medicamento tendrá que hacerse pruebas de laboratorio cada pocos meses para comprobar que se están disolviendo los cálculos biliares y que su hígado funciona correctamente.

La dosis recomendada para el tratamiento de la cirrosis biliar primaria es de 2 cápsulas al día (13-15 mg/kg/día), distribuidas en varias tomas.

Su médico le aconsejará mantener una dieta moderada en calorías y colesterol durante el tratamiento con Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas.

Si toma más Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas del que debe

El síntoma más habitual por sobredosis de Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas es la aparición de diarrea.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

No suspenda el tratamiento sin consultar con su médico, ya que entonces no se logrará el efecto previsto.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Ursobilane 500 mg cápsulas

El principio activo es el ácido ursodesoxicólico. Cada cápsula contiene 500 mg de ácido ursodesoxicólico.

Los demás excipientes son estearato magnésico, celulosa en polvo, sílice coloidal y carboximetilalmidón sódico (tipo A) (de patata).

Los componentes de la cápsula son: gelatina, dióxido de titanio (E-171), amarillo de quinoleína (E-104), amarillo anaranjado S (E-110) e indigotina (carmín de índigo) (E-132).
