1. Qué es Terbasmin Expectorante y para qué se utiliza

Terbasmin Expectorante es un medicamento que proporciona un alivio rápido de síntomas tales como dificultad en la respiración en pacientes con asma o afecciones similares. Asimismo, fluidifica la mucosidad.

Terbasmin Expectorante se empleará de forma regular para prevenir los problemas respiratorios esperados en este tipo de afecciones. No alivia un ataque agudo de asma cuando ha comenzado.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Terbasmin Expectorante

No tome Terbasmin Expectorante:

  • Si es alérgico a la terbutalina sulfato o a la guaifenesina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • No utilizar en niños menores de 2 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

Uso de Terbasmin Expectorante con otros medicamentos

Ciertos medicamentos utilizados para el tratamiento de la hipertensión, problemas del corazón y en algunos colirios, que contienen betabloqueantes, pueden reducir o anular el efecto de Terbasmin Expectorante cuando se administran conjuntamente.

Cuando se emplea Terbasmin Expectorante junto con otros medicamentos pueden aparecer niveles bajos de potasio en la sangre. Normalmente este efecto carece de importancia, pero en algunos casos puede influir en el ritmo del corazón.

3. Cómo tomar Terbasmin Expectorante

Terbasmin Expectorante se administra por vía oral.

La dosis recomendada es:

  • Dosis habituales en adultos: 10 a 15 ml de solución oral (3 a 4,5 mg de terbutalina sulfato) 3 veces en 24 horas.

Si toma más Terbasmin Expectorante del que debe

Consulte inmediatamente a su médico o a su farmacéutico.

Los síntomas y signos más comunes que pueden producirse tras una sobredosis son: nauseas, dolor de cabeza, ritmo cardiaco rápido o irregular, calambres musculares, nerviosismo, inquietud, temblores, desvanecimiento o somnolencia no habitual.

En caso de sobredosis accidental, acuda a su médico o consulte con el Servicio de Información Toxicológica, Teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el producto y la cantidad tomada.

Si olvidó tomar Terbasmin Expectorante

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

En caso de olvidarse una dosis, tómela tan pronto como se acuerde. Si la siguiente toma estuviese muy próxima, espere hasta entonces.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Terbasmin Expectorante

Recuerde tomar su medicamento. Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con este medicamento. Evite suspender el tratamiento sin antes consultar a su médico.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

La frecuencia de los efectos adversos es la siguiente: Frecuentes (al menos 1 de cada 100 pacientes), poco frecuentes (al menos 1 de cada 1.000 pacientes), raros (al menos 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes).

Si se producen efectos adversos son de carácter leve y desaparecen al cabo de una o dos semanas de tratamiento.

Comunique a su médico los siguientes efectos adversos que le resulten molestos o que no desaparezcan:

  • Frecuentes: Temblores, latido rápido del corazón (taquicardia).

5. Conservación de Terbasmin Expectorante

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Terbasmin Expectorante

  • Los principios activos son terbutalina sulfato y guaifenesina. Cada ml contiene 0,3 mg de terbutalina sulfato y 13,3 mg de guaifenesina.
  • Los demás componentes son: Sorbitol (E-420), glicerol (E-422), ácido cítrico, hidróxido de sodio (E-524), benzoato de sodio (E-211), edetato de disodio, sacarina de sodio, mentol, aroma de frambuesa, aroma de limón y agua purificada.
