1. What is Morry Ointment and what is it used for

Morry Ointment is a medication that contains the active ingredient salicylic acid. Salicylic acid has a keratolytic action (dissolves keratin in the skin), allowing for the elimination of calluses, corns, and common warts when applied to the skin.

This medication is used in the treatment of calluses and corns, as well as common warts in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

You should consult a doctor if your condition worsens or does not improve after 4-6 days.

2. What you need to know before starting to use Morry Ointment

Do not use Morry Ointment:

  • if you are allergic to salicylic acid, salicylates, or any of the other components of this medication (listed in section 6).
  • if you are diabetic or have circulation problems in your legs.
  • if the skin is infected, red, inflamed, irritated, or in painful areas.
  • on areas with moles.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Morry Ointment.

  • this medication is for external use only (on the skin).
  • avoid contact between the medication and healthy skin, face, neck, genitals, eyes, and mucous membranes. In case of accidental application to these areas, rinse with plenty of water.
  • although careful application is made, total or partial removal of the callus may cause some inflammatory reaction or redness.

In any case, if the discomfort increases during treatment or persists after interruption, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Other medications and Morry Ointment

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or may need to use any other medication.

Do not use other medications that are used to eliminate calluses, corns, or warts, such as medications that contain benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, sulfur, tretinoin, or topical preparations that contain alcohol, at the same time. The combined use of these products could enhance their effects and increase side effects.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

Do not use Morry Ointment during pregnancy, except for short-term treatment of a small skin area, wart, callus, or corn.

Oral forms (e.g., tablets) of this class of medication may cause side effects in the fetus. It is unknown if the same risks apply to Morry Ointment when used on the skin for warts, calluses, and corns.

3. How to use Morry Ointment

Follow the administration instructions for this medication as indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.

This medication is for external use only (on the skin).

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:

Before application, wash the affected area with warm soapy water and dry. Then, protect the surrounding skin with petroleum jelly. Apply the ointment to the desired area 2 times a day, at bedtime and upon waking. After each application, it is advisable to cover the area with a hydrophilic gauze or a plaster (it is not recommended to use cotton). You should wash your hands after each application.

Calluses usually fall off on their own after 3-6 days. If not, wash the affected area with warm water to facilitate removal.

Use in children:

In children under 12 years of age, this medication should be used exclusively under medical supervision.

If you use more Morry Ointment than you should:

Due to the mode of application of the medication, intoxication phenomena are not expected with cutaneous use.

In case of accidental application to the eyes or mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of water.

Accidental ingestion may cause nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, confusion, dizziness, headache, tachycardia (increased heart rate), hyperventilation (rapid or deep breathing), and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). In case of accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately or call the Toxicology Information Service at 91.562.04.20, indicating the medication and the amount ingested.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medications, this medication can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

If, when applying the medication, it comes into contact with the healthy skin around the affected area, irritation, inflammation, or even a wound may appear. In this case, it is recommended to temporarily suspend treatment until the irritation disappears. When resuming treatment, special attention should be paid to adequately protecting the healthy skin surrounding the callus or wart, so that the ointment only comes into contact with the affected area.

It has been observed that frequent (affecting up to 1 in 10 patients) skin allergic reactions may occur.

However, if you consider that any of the side effects you are experiencing is serious or if you notice any side effect not mentioned in this package leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist.

5. Storage of Morry Ointment

Keep this medication out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not store at a temperature above 25°C. Store in the original package.

Do not use this medication after the expiration date shown on the package after CAD. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.

The validity period after opening the package is 2 months.

Medications should not be disposed of through wastewater or household waste. Deposit the packages and medications you no longer need at the SIGRE point in the pharmacy. In case of doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the packages and medications you no longer need. This will help protect the environment.
