Contents of the package leaflet
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm contains three active substances (levodopa, carbidopa, and entacapone) in one film-coated tablet. Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm is used to treat Parkinson's disease.
Parkinson's disease is due to a low concentration in the brain of a substance called dopamine. Levodopa increases the amount of dopamine and thus reduces the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Carbidopa and entacapone improve the antiparkinsonian effects of levodopa.

Tell your doctor if you, or your family member/caregiver, notice that you are developing symptoms similar to addiction, leading to a desire for high doses of Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone and other medicines used to treat Parkinson's disease.
Tell your doctor if you or your family member/caregiver notice that you are developing desires or tendencies to behave in an unusual way for you or that you cannot resist the impulse, determination, or temptation to perform certain activities that may harm you or others. These behaviors are called impulse control disorders and may include addiction to gambling, food, or excessive spending, and abnormally increased sexual drive or concern with an increase in sexual thoughts or feelings. Your doctor may need to review your treatment.
During prolonged treatment with Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm, your doctor may perform regular blood tests.
If you need to undergo surgery, tell your doctor that you are taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm.
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm is not recommended for the treatment of extrapyramidal symptoms (e.g., involuntary movements, agitation, muscle stiffness, and muscle contractions) caused by other medicines.
Children and adolescents
Experience with the use of Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm in patients under 18 years of age is limited. Therefore, the administration of Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm is not recommended in children.
Taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
Do not take Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm if you are taking certain medicines for depression (combinations of selective MAO-A and MAO-B inhibitors, or non-selective MAO inhibitors).
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm may increase the effect and also the side effects of certain medicines. These include:
Certain medicines may reduce the effects of Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm.
These medicines are:
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm may interfere with the absorption of iron in the gut. Therefore, do not take Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm at the same time as taking iron supplements. If you take any of them, you should wait at least 2 or 3 hours before taking the other.
Taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm with food and drinks
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm can be taken with or without food.
It is possible that in some patients Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm may not be absorbed well if taken with protein-rich foods (meat, fish, dairy products, cereals, and nuts) or shortly after eating them. Consult your doctor if you think this is happening to you.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
You should not breastfeed while taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm.
Driving and using machines
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm may lower your blood pressure, which can cause dizziness or fainting. Therefore, be careful when using tools or machines.
If you feel very tired or notice that you suddenly fall asleep, wait until you feel fully awake before driving or doing anything that requires you to be alert. Otherwise, you may put yourself and others at risk of a serious or even fatal accident.
Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm contains lactoseand Red Allura AC (E129)
This medicine contains lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult them before taking this medicine.
This medicine also contains Red Allura AC (E129), which may cause allergic reactions.
Follow the instructions for administration of this medicine exactly as told by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.
Adults and elderly:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect of Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm is too strong or too weak, or if you experience any side effects.
If you take more Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm than you should
If you have accidentally taken more Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm tablets than you should, talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately or call the Toxicology Information Service (telephone 915 620 420) indicating the medicine and the amount taken. In case of overdose, you may feel dizzy or agitated, your heart rate may be slower or faster than normal, or your skin, tongue, eyes, or urine may change color.
If you forget to take Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm
Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.
If it is more than 1 hour until the next dose:
Take a tablet as soon as you remember, and the next one at the usual time.
If it is less than 1 hour until the next dose:
Take a tablet as soon as you remember, wait 1 hour, and take another tablet then. Then, continue as usual.
There should always be an interval of 1 hour between Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm tablets to avoid possible side effects.
If you stop taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/EntacaponeTeva-ratiopharm
Do not stop taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm unless your doctor tells you to. In that case, your doctor may need to adjust the dose of your other Parkinson's medicines, especially levodopa, to ensure sufficient control of your symptoms. If you stop taking Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm and other Parkinson's medicines abruptly, you may experience unwanted side effects.

Like all medicines, Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone Teva-ratiopharm can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Many can be relieved by adjusting the dose.

Dopamine dysregulation syndrome, characterized by an intense desire to take high doses of levodopa/carbidopa/entacapone that exceed those required to control motor symptoms. Some patients experience severe abnormal involuntary movements (dyskinesias), mood changes, or other side effects after taking high doses of levodopa/carbidopa/entacapone.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after CAD. The expiry date is the last day of the month indicated.
No special storage conditions are required.
Take the tablets within the first 175 days after the first opening of the bottle.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Deposit the packaging and medicines that you no longer need in the SIGRE Point of the pharmacy. In case of doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the packaging and medicines that you no longer need. This will help protect the environment.

Appearance of the Product and Package Contents
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapona Teva-ratiopharm 100 mg/25 mg/200 mg: oblong, biconvex tablets, pale red in color, engraved on one side with "100", smooth on the other side. Dimensions: approx. 17x9 mm.
Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapona Teva-ratiopharm is available in the following package sizes, bottles containing 10, 28, 30, 50, 60, 90, 98, 100, 130, 150, 175, 200, or 250 tablets.
