1. What is Vitaminum E Hasco and what is it used for

Vitamin E is one of the essential nutrients. It is part of the system that protects cells from the effects of free oxygen radicals. It protects polyunsaturated fatty acids in cell membranes and other cell structures, stabilizes cell membranes and cell structures, and prevents the breakdown of red blood cells. Protection against oxidative damage appears to be important in the development and functioning of the nervous and muscular systems.
Vitamin E may also act as a cofactor in certain enzyme systems. It participates in the oxidation of glucose and glycogenolysis. It is involved in lipid metabolism: prostaglandins and cholesterol.
Epidemiological studies indicate a relationship between daily vitamin E intake and the risk of coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and other diseases whose mechanism of action is related to oxidative stress. Vitamin E reduces the activity of platelet aggregation.

Indications for use:

• treatment of vitamin E deficiency caused by prolonged improper nutrition and metabolic disorders;
• supportive: in atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and its secondary prevention, as well as in all diseases whose cause (etiology) is related to oxidative stress.

2. Important information before using Vitaminum E Hasco

When not to use Vitaminum E Hasco:

• if the patient is allergic to the active substance (vitamin E) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• if the patient is allergic to peanuts or soy;
• if there is a deficiency of vitamin K.

Warnings and precautions

Before starting to use Vitaminum E Hasco, you should discuss it with your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
Particular caution should be exercised when using Vitaminum E Hasco in patients who are also taking oral anticoagulant medicines (e.g., dicumarol, warfarin) or estrogens (e.g., oral contraceptives).

Vitaminum E Hasco and other medicines

You should tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking, or have recently taken, and about any medicines you plan to take.
Vitamin E may act against vitamin K, especially in people being treated with oral anticoagulant medicines (e.g., dicumarol, warfarin) or estrogens (e.g., oral contraceptives).
Taking other agents with antioxidant effects (vitamin C, selenium, ubiquinone, sulfur-containing amino acids) may alleviate some symptoms of vitamin E deficiency.
Taking iron preparations simultaneously may weaken the effect of vitamin E, so you should keep a few hours' interval between taking these medicines.
Vitamin E may reduce the need for insulin and digitalis glycosides (e.g., digoxin) and increase the absorption, utilization, and storage of vitamin A.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or plan to have a child, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used on the advice of a doctor.

Driving and using machines

The medicine has no influence or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Vitaminum E Hasco contains purified peanut oil (from peanuts)

If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, you should not use the medicine.

Vitaminum E Hasco contains cochineal red (E 124)

The medicine may cause allergic reactions.

3. How to use Vitaminum E Hasco

This medicine should always be used as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is taken orally.
The recommended dose is usually 1 capsule per day.

Using a higher dose of Vitaminum E Hasco than recommended

If you have taken a significantly higher dose of the medicine than recommended, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
High doses of vitamin E taken for a long time may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, and other gastrointestinal disorders, as well as fatigue and weakness, blurred vision, headaches, rash, disorders of sex gland function, and decreased thyroid hormone levels in the blood.

Missing a dose of Vitaminum E Hasco

You should not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Vitaminum E Hasco can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Vitamin E is generally well-tolerated. After taking high doses (above 800 mg/day), you may experience fatigue, weakness, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, or rash.

If you experience any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist. 5. How to store Vitaminum E Hasco

The medicine should be stored out of sight and reach of children.
Store in a temperature below 25°C.
Store in the original packaging to protect from light.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. You should ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that are no longer needed. This will help protect the environment.

6. Package contents and other information

What Vitaminum E Hasco contains

• The active substance of the medicine is all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E). 1 soft capsule contains 300 mg of vitamin E.
• The other ingredients (excipients) are: purified peanut oil, gelatin, glycerol, cochineal red (E 124).

What Vitaminum E Hasco looks like and what the package contains

Vitaminum E Hasco is an oval, soft capsule, light red in color, filled with an oily solution.
One package of the medicine contains 30 soft capsules.
