1. Qué es Pectox Forte y para qué se utiliza

Pectox Forte contine carbocisteina. La carbocisteina pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados mucolíticos, aunque tiene una acción mucorreguladora, que fluidifica y disminuye la viscosidad del moco para facilitar su eliminación.

Está indicado en el tratamiento de los trastornos de la secreción mucosa que aparecen en procesos agudos y crónicos del tracto respiratorio.

Pectox Forte está indicado en adultos (18 años y mayores), adolescentes (mayores de 12 años) y niños a partir de de 2 años.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Pectox Forte

No tome Pectox Forte

  • si es alérgico a la carbocisteína o a algunos de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • si padece úlcera gastroduodenal activa.
  • en niños menores de 2 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Pectox Forte.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de Pectox Forte sobre la capacidad para conducir y utilizar máquinas es nula o insignificante.

Pectox Forte contiene colorante rojo cochinilla A (E-124).Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas porque contiene rojo cochinilla A (E-124). Puede provocar asma, especialmente en pacientes alérgicos al ácido acetilsalicílico.

Pectox Forte contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo sal de sodio (E-219).Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) porque contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo sal de sodio (E-219).

3. Cómo tomar Pectox Forte

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes (mayores de 12 años):

15 ml de solución oral (1.500 mg de carbocisteína) en una única toma, cada 24 horas.

Población pediátrica:

Niños de 6 a 12 años:

7,5 ml de solución oral (750 mg de carbocisteína) en una única toma, cada 24 horas.

Niños de 2 a 5 años:

5 ml de solución oral (500 mg de carbocisteína) en una única toma, cada 24 horas.

Este medicamento se toma por vía oral.

Este medicamento viene acompañado de un vasito dosificador que tiene marcadas las siguientes medidas: 2,5 ml, 4 ml, 5ml, 7,5 ml, 8 ml, 8,5 mly 10 ml. La solución oral se bebe directamente del vasito dosificador o tras verter el contenido del vasito dosificador en un vaso con una cantidad suficiente de agua u otro líquido. Tome este medicamento preferentemente antes de las comidas. Se recomienda beber abundante líquido durante el día

Si los síntomas empeoran o no mejoran al cabo de 5 días, debe consultar con su médico.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 915 62 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvida tomar una dosis, tómela en cuanto pueda.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Pectox Forte puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Efectos adversos poco frecuentes (pueden afectar a entre 1 y 10 de cada 1.000 pacientes):

Trastornos gastrointestinales como: náuseas, vómitos, diarrea o dispepsia (malestar gastrointestinal). En algunos casos puede ser útil reducir la dosis administrada.

Efectos adversos raros (pueden afectar a entre 1 y 10 de cada 10.000 pacientes):

Reacciones de hipersensibilidad (reacciones alérgicas) acompañadas de urticaria (enrojecimiento e inflamación de la piel).

Efectos adversos muy raros (pueden afectar a menos de 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes):

Espasmo bronquial (asma).

En estos casos, se aconseja interrumpir el tratamiento tan pronto como sea posible.

5. Conservación de Pectox Forte

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Pectox Forte

  • El principio activo es carbocisteína. Cada ml de solución oral contiene 100 mg de carbocisteina.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: sacarina sódica, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo sal de sodio (E-219), esencia de frambuesa, rojo cochinilla A (E-124), hidróxido de sodio, ácido cítrico, fosfato sódico dibásico, ciclamato sódico y agua purificada.

Este medicamento se presenta en frasco transparente de PET conteniendo 240 ml ó 120 ml de solución oral de color rojo y olor y sabor a frambuesa, acompañado de un vaso dosificador de 10 ml.
