1. Qué es ONDANSETRÓN QUALIGEN y para qué se utiliza

Ondansetrón Qualigen 8 mg comprimidos se presenta en forma de comprimidos recubiertos con película. Cada envase contiene 6 ó 15 comprimidos recubiertos con película.

Ondansetrón pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados antieméticos.

Se utiliza para prevenir los vómitos y náuseas causados por determinados tratamientos médicos.

2. ANTES DE TOMAR ONDANSETRÓN QUALIGEN

No tomeOndansetrón Qualigen

  • Si es alérgico a ondansetrón o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de Ondansetrón Qualigen.
  • Si tiene o ha tenido alguna reacción alérgica (hipersensible) con otros antieméticos (por ejemplo granisetrón o dolasetrón).

Tenga especial cuidado conOndansetrón Qualigen

  • Si es hipersensible (alérgico) a otros medicamentos para las náuseas o vómitos.
  • Si padece un bloqueo en el intestino o si sufre de estreñimiento grave. Ondansetrón puede aumentar el bloqueo o el estreñimiento.
  • Si tiene problemas de corazón.
  • Si está siendo sometido a una operación de amígdalas.

Uso de otros medicamentos

Especialmente, informe a su médico si está utilizando los siguientes medicamentos:

Lactancia

3. Cómo TOMAR ONDANSETRÓN QUALIGEN

Siga estas instrucciones a menos que su médico le haya dado otras indicaciones distintas. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Ondansetrón Qualigen. No suspenda el tratamiento antes.

Ondansetrón Qualigen 8 mg comprimidos se administra por vía oral. Ingerir los comprimidos enteros, con ayuda de un poco de agua.

Náuseas y vómitos causados por quimioterapia o radioterapia

Adultos:

Un comprimido (8 mg) por vía oral, 1-2 horas antes del tratamiento médico potencialmente causante de las náuseas y los vómitos, y a continuación 1 comprimido (8 mg) 12 horas más tarde.

Para prevenir las náuseas y vómitos los días siguientes, continúe tomando 1 comprimido (8 mg) cada 12 horas durante 5 días.

Náuseas y vómitos causados por quimioterapia

Niños mayores de 6 meses y adolescentes:

El médico decidirá la dosis en función del peso o de la superficie corporal de su hijo.

Normalmente, 12 horas después de la quimioterapia su hijo recibirá ondansetrón por vía oral. La dosis habitual es de 4 mg dos veces al día y puede continuar durante un periodo de hasta 5 días.

Niños:

Si toma másOndansetrón Qualigendel que debiera

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos Ondansetrón Qualigen puede tener efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Efectos adversos muy frecuentes(en más de 1 de cada 10 pacientes).

  • Dolor de cabeza.

Efectos adversos frecuentes(entre 1y 10 de cada 100 pacientes).

No es necesario que deje de tomar el medicamento, en su próxima visita al médico comuníquele al médico si ha padecido alguno de los siguientes síntomas:

  • Sensación de calor o rubor.
  • Estreñimiento.

Efectos adversos poco frecuentes(entre 1 y 10 de cada 1.000 pacientes).

Informe al médico inmediatamente en caso de:

  • Movimientos giratorios ascendentes de los ojos, rigidez muscular anormal/ movimientos del cuerpo/temblor.
  • Convulsiones.
  • Latidos lentos o irregulares del corazón.
  • Presión sanguínea más baja de lo normal (hipotensión).
  • Hipo.
  • Aumentos de niveles en resultados de las pruebas sanguíneas de comprobación de funcionamiento del hígado, aunque no producen síntomas.

Efectos adversos raros(entre 1 y 10 de cada 10.000 pacientes).

-Alergias al medicamento: en caso de que apareciera alguno de los síntomas siguientes, deje de tomar el medicamento inmediatamente y avise a su médico inmediatamente:

  • Aparición súbita de “pitos” y dolor u opresión en el pecho.
  • Hinchazón de párpados, cara, labios, boca o lengua.
  • Erupción en la piel o urticaria en cualquier parte del cuerpo.
  • Visión borrosa.

Efectos adversos muy raros(en menos de 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes)

  • Ceguera transitoria, que normalmente se resuelve en 20 minutos.

Efectos adversos de frecuencia no conocida: no puede estimarse su frecuencia

  • Isquemia miocárdica

Los signos incluyen:

5. Conservación de ONDANSETRÓN QUALIGEN

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación. Conservar en el embalaje original.

Mantener fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

  • El principio activo es ondansetrón (como hidrocloruro, dihidrato). Cada comprimido contiene 8 mg de ondansetrón.
