1. Qué es MucoActiol y para qué se utiliza

La carbocisteína, principio activo de este medicamento pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados mucolíticos, que actúan disminuyendo la viscosidad del moco, fluidificándolo y facilitando su eliminación.

Este medicamento está indicado para facilitar la eliminación del exceso de mocos y flemas, en catarros y gripes, para adultos y adolescentes a partir de los 12 años.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 5 días de tratamiento.

Si es alérgico a la carbocisteína, a algún compuesto relacionado o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en las sección 6).

Este medicamento está contraindicado en niños menores de 2 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar MucoActiol:

  • Si padece úlcera de estómago, duodeno o si tiene alguna enfermedad de tiroides.
  • Si padece asma o cualquier enfermedad respiratoria grave, ya que puede aumentar la obstrucción de las vías respiratorias.
  • Durante los primeros días podrá observar un aumento de mocos y flemas que irá disminuyendo a lo largo del tratamiento.

Niños

Los niños menores de 12 años no deben tomar este medicamento.

Toma deMucoActiolcon otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

No tome este medicamento con medicamentos utilizados para reducir la tos no productiva (antitusivos) ni con medicamentos utilizados para inhibir las secreciones bronquiales, ya que puede provocar un acúmulo del moco fluidificado.

Toma de MucoActiol con alimentos y bebidas

Tome este medicamento preferentemente antes de las comidas.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Este medicamento no se debe utilizar durante el embarazo o en periodo de lactancia, a no ser que su médico se lo indique.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de MucoActiol sobre la capacidad de conducir y utilizar máquinas es nula o insignificante.

MucoActiol contiene tartrazina (E-102), parahidroxibenzoato sódico de metilo (E-219) y sodio.

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas porque contiene tartrazina (E-102). Puede provocar asma, especialmente en pacientes alérgicos al ácido acetilsalicílico.

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) porque contiene parahidroxibenzoato sódico de metilo (E-219).

Este medicamento contiene 121 mg de sodio (componente principal de la sal de mesa/para cocinar) en cada 15 ml. Esto equivale al 6% de la ingesta diaria máxima de sodio recomendada para un adulto.

3. Cómo tomar MucoActiol

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendadaes:

Adultos yadolescentes mayores de 12 años:

1 dosis de 15 ml medida con el vaso dosificador 3 veces al día.

Una vez que se observe mejoría, puede reducir la dosis a 10 ml, 3 veces al día.

Uso en niños:

Los niños menores de 12 años no pueden tomar este medicamento.

Tome este medicamento por vía oral y preferiblemente antes de las comidas.

Medir con el vasito dosificador incluido en el envase, la cantidad de medicamento a tomar.

Se recomienda beber un vaso de agua después de cada dosis y abundante cantidad de líquido durante el día.

Si empeora o si no mejora después de 5 días de tratamiento, o se produce fiebre, erupciones en la piel, dolor de cabeza persistente o dolor de garganta, debe consultar a su médico.

Si toma másMucoActioldel que debe

Si usted ha tomado más MucoActiol de lo que debe, puede notar dolor de estómago, náuseas y diarrea, picor y erupciones en la piel.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o bien llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 915 620 420, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad tomada.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Durante el periodo de utilización de la carbocisteína se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos cuya frecuencia no se ha podido establecer con exactitud. Se pueden producir reacciones alérgicas como erupción cutánea, urticaria, picor, eritema multiforme (reacción alérgica grave de la piel que provoca manchas rojas en relieve que pueden formar ampollas).

También pueden aparecer trastornos gastrointestinales (diarrea, náuseas, vómitos, dolor en la zona superior del abdomén, hemorragia gastrointestinal), dolor de cabeza, vértigo, dificultad para respirar, acompañada o no de pitidos (broncoespasmo).

En estos casos se recomienda interrumpir el tratamiento y consultar al médico.

5. Conservación de MucoActiol

Mantener este medicamento fuera dela vista y del alcance de los niños.

Conservar por debajo de 25ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

El principio activo de MucoActiol 50 mg/ml Solución oral es carbocisteína. Cada ml de solución oral contiene 50 mg de carbocisteína.

Los demás componentes son: hidróxido de sodio, carmelosa sódica, sucralosa, fosfato de disodio, tartrazina (E-102), parahidroxibenzoato sódico de metilo (E-219), aroma de vainilla y agua purificada.
