1. Qué es Maviret y para qué se utiliza

Maviret es un medicamento antiviral utilizado para tratar a adultos y niños (de 3 años en adelante) con hepatitis C a largo plazo (“crónica”). Esta es una enfermedad infecciosa que afecta al hígado y está causada por el virus de la hepatitis C. Maviret contiene los principios activos glecaprevir y pibrentasvir.

Maviret actúa impidiendo que el virus de la hepatitis C se multiplique e infecte nuevas células. De este modo, se elimina la infección del cuerpo.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Maviret

No tome Maviret:

  • si es alérgico a glecaprevir, pibrentasvir o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • si padece problemas hepáticos graves aparte de la hepatitis C.
  • si está tomando los siguientes medicamentos:
    • atazanavir (para la infección por el VIH)
    • atorvastatina o simvastatina (para reducir el colesterol en sangre)
    • carbamazepina, fenobarbital, fenitoína, primidona (normalmente utilizados para la epilepsia)
    • dabigatrán etexilato (para prevenir coágulos de sangre)
    • medicamentos que contienen etinilestradiol (como los medicamentos anticonceptivos, que incluyen anillos vaginales, parches transdérmicos y comprimidos)
    • rifampicina (para las infecciones)

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico si se encuentra en alguno de los siguientes casos, ya que podría necesitar una supervisión más estrecha:

  • padece o ha padecido anteriormente una infección por el virus de la hepatitis B
  • padece diabetes. Tras comenzar con Maviret puede que necesite un control riguroso de su concentración de glucosa en sangre y/o ajustar su tratamiento medicación antidiabético. 3. Cómo tomar Maviret

Siga siempre exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico. Su médico le indicará por cuánto tiempo necesitará tomar Maviret.

Maviret comprimidos están destinados a adultos, niños de 12 años en adelante, o niños que pesen 45 kg o más. Maviret gránulos recubiertos están destinados a niños de 3 años a menos de 12 años y con un peso de 12 kg a menos de 45 kg.

Cantidad que debe tomar

La dosis recomendada para adultos, niños de 12 años en adelante, o niños que pesen como mínimo 45 kg es de tres comprimidos de Maviret 100 mg/40 mg tomados a la vez, una vez al día. La dosis diaria son los tres comprimidos de un blíster.

Forma de tomar el medicamento

  • Tómese los comprimidos junto con alimentos.
  • Los comprimidos se deben tragar enteros.
  • No debe masticarlos, triturarlos ni partirlos ya que esto puede afectar a la cantidad de Maviret en su sangre.

Si vomita después de tomar Maviret, la cantidad de este medicamento presente en la sangre podría verse afectada. En tal caso, la eficacia de Maviret podría ser menor.

  • Si vomita cuando han pasado menos de 3horasdespués de haber tomado Maviret, tómese otra dosis.
  • Si vomita cuando han pasado más de 3horasdespués de haber tomado Maviret, no es necesario que se tome otra dosis hasta que le toque la siguiente que tiene programada.

Si toma más Maviret del que debe

Si accidentalmente toma una cantidad superior a la dosis recomendada, consulte con su médico o acuda inmediatamente al hospital más cercano. Lleve a mano el envase de este medicamento para poder mostrar a su médico lo que ha tomado.

Si olvidó tomar Maviret

Es importante no saltarse las dosis de este medicamento.

Si olvida tomar una dosis, calcule cuánto hace que debería haber tomado Maviret:

  • Si se acuerda en menos de 18horasdespués de la hora a la que habitualmente se toma la dosis de Maviret, tómesela lo antes posible. A continuación, tómese la siguiente dosis a la hora de siempre.
  • Si se acuerda en 18horas o másdespués de la hora a la que habitualmente se toma la dosis de Maviret, espere y tómese la siguiente dosis a la hora de siempre. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

5. Conservación de Maviret

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de “CAD” y en el blíster después de “EXP”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Maviret

  • Los principios activos son glecaprevir y pibrentasvir. Cada comprimido contiene 100 mg de glecaprevir y 40 mg de pibrentasvir.
  • Los demás excipientes son:
  • Núcleo del comprimido: copovidona (tipo K 28), polietilenglicol succinato de vitamina E, sílice coloidal anhidra, propilenglicol monocaprilato (tipo II), croscarmelosa sódica, estearil fumarato de sodio.
  • Cubierta pelicular del comprimido: hipromelosa (E464), lactosa monohidrato, dióxido de titanio, macrogol 3350, óxido de hierro rojo (E172).

Maviret contiene lactosa y sodio. Ver sección 2.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Los comprimidos de Maviret son comprimidos recubiertos con película de color rosa, ovalados, con forma curva en ambas caras (biconvexos), de 18,8 mm × 10,0 mm y marcados con “NXT” en una cara.

Los comprimidos de Maviret están envasados en blísters que contienen 3 comprimidos cada uno. Maviret está disponible en envases de 84 comprimidos, con 4 cajas, cada una con 21 comprimidos recubiertos con película.
