1. Qué es Hyperlite y para qué se utiliza

Hyperlite es un concentrado para solución para perfusión (que se administra diluido por vía intravenosa mediante un gotero) que se utiliza como aporte de electrolitos (sales como sodio, calcio, magnesio…) durante la nutrición parenteral normal (alimentación directamente en vena).

La nutrición parenteral consiste en la administración de nutrientes al organismo por vía endovenosa (directamente en vena). Se utiliza en todos aquellos pacientes que son incapaces de ingerir por vía oral los nutrientes necesarios para cubrir sus necesidades nutricionales, ante la incapacidad de utilización de su sistema digestivo.

2. Antes de usar Hyperlite

No use Hyperlite:

  • si es alérgico (hipersensible) a los principios activos de Hyperlite.
  • si usted tiene:
  • exceso de fluidos en el organismo (hiperhidratación)
  • exceso de sodio, potasio, calcio, magnesio o acetato en sangre
  • anuria (ausencia de producción de orina)
  • alteraciones en el riñón
  • alteraciones en el hígado
  • alteraciones en el corazón
  • acumulación de líquidos (edema) en pulmón o cerebro.

Uso en niños:

La composición de Hyperlite no hace aconsejable su utilización en niños.

Tenga especial cuidado con Hyperlite:

Si usted tiene:

  • hipertensión (presión arterial elevada) u otras enfermedades asociadas a la retención de sodio
  • enfermedades o condiciones que predispongan a la retención de potasio

Uso de otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos, incluso los adquiridos sin receta.

Es importante que informe a su médico si utiliza alguno de los siguientes medicamentos:

  • Un tipo de antiinflamatorios llamados corticoides/esteroides y carbenoxolona
  • Carbonato de litio (depresor del sistema nervioso)
  • Diuréticos (incrementan la eliminación de orina) ahorradores de potasio (como amilorida, espironolactona, triamtereno) solos o en asociación
  • Antihipertensivos del tipo inhibidores del enzima convertidor de angiotensina (IECA) (captopril, enalapril) o antagonistas de los receptores de angiotensina II (candesartán, telmisartán, eprosartrán, irbesartán, losartán, valsartán)
  • Medicamentos usados para evitar el rechazo en transplantes como son: Tacrolimus y ciclosporina (con toxicidad a nivel del riñón)
  • Suxametonio (un tipo de relajante muscular que se utiliza en combinación con la anestesia en operaciones)
  • Diuréticos tiazídicos como son: hidroclorotiazida, altizida, mebutizida, bendroflumetiazida (para incrementar la cantidad normal de orina eliminada) o vitamina D
  • Medicamentos como los barbituratos, narcóticos o hipnóticos (tranquilizantes)
  • Un tipo de medicamentos utilizados en trastornos de corazón llamados glucósidos digitálicos cardiotónicos (digoxina, metildigoxina).

Embarazo y lactancia

3. Cómo usar Hyperlite

Este medicamento siempre lo administrará personal sanitario.

Esta solución nunca debe inyectarse directamente al paciente. Sólo debe emplearse diluida (mezclada) en otras soluciones.

Su médico decidirá la dosis correcta y la frecuencia con la que se le administrará la solución, y esto dependerá de su edad, peso y situación clínica.

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de Hyperlite indicadas por su médico. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas.

Si usa más Hyperlite de la que debiera

Es poco probable que esto suceda ya que su médico se asegurará de que recibe la cantidad correcta. Sin embargo, si usted recibiera más Hyperlite de la que debiera, esto podría provocarle:

  • acumulación de agua, con aumento de la tensión arterial

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Hyperlite puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Si la administración de la solución se hace según las indicaciones de este prospecto, no se espera la aparición de efectos adversos.

Puede haber fiebre, disminución del volumen de fluidos en el cuerpo y reacciones debidas a la forma de administración como: infección en el punto de inyección, formación de un trombo en un vaso sanguíneo, inflamación de una vena (flebitis) y reacciones debidas a la salida de liquido de los vasos sanguíneos (extravasación).

5. Conservación de Hyperlite

Mantener fuera del alcance y la vista de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice Hyperlite después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No utilice Hyperlite si observa que la solución no es transparente o contiene partículas en el fondo del envase, o si el envase presenta signos visibles de deterioro.

Los medicamentos y los materiales que hayan estado en contacto con él no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Envases para un solo uso. Desechar cualquier contenido remanente no utilizado tras finalizar la perfusión.

Usar el set de administración estéril para la administración. No usar los mismos equipos de infusión utilizados o que se utilizarán en la administración de sangre ya que existe posibilidad de aparición de aglutinación.

Antes de mezclar la solución con otros medicamentos deben considerarse las posibles incompatibilidades.

Deberá prestarse especial atención

  • Al estado clínico del paciente y los parámetros de laboratorio (electrolitos en sangre y orina así como el equilibrio ácido-base, hematocrito) durante el uso de esta solución.
  • Al nivel de potasio plasmático del paciente (particularmente en pacientes con riesgo de hipercaliemia).
  • si se usa en pacientes de edad avanzada, debido a que pueden tener afectada la función renal, hepática o cardiaca.
  • pacientes con riesgo de edema cerebral o de hipertensión intracraneal.
  • Hyperlite no contiene fosfatos. Los pacientes sometidos a nutrición parenteral total con soluciones concentradas de glucosa pueden requerir fosfatos adicionalmente.

Si se administra vía vena periférica, debe evitarse la administración continuada en el mismo lugar de inyección debido al riesgo de sufrir tromboflebitis.

Deben controlarse diariamente los posibles signos de inflamación o infección, en el lugar de perfusión.

Hyperlite es una solución fuertemente hipertónica, por lo que no debe administrarse en ningún caso directamente sin diluir.
