1. Qué es Glufan y para qué se utiliza

La glucosamina es un producto natural producido a partir de la glucosa (un azúcar). La glucosamina facilita la formación de cartílago y articulaciones.

Glufan está indicado para el alivio de los síntomas producidos por la artrosis de rodilla de leve a moderada.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Glufan

No tomeGlufan:

  • Si es hipersensible (alérgico) a glucosamina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si es alérgico al marisco, ya que, el principio activo, glucosamina se obtiene del marisco.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Glufan.

  • Si padece diabetes debe consultar con su médico antes de tomar Glufan. Pueden ser necesarios controles más frecuentes de los niveles de azúcar en sangre cuando se empieza el tratamiento.
  • Si padece asma. Al comenzar el tratamiento con Glufan, debe tener en cuenta que los síntomas pueden empeorar.

Comunique a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Algunos tipos de medicamentos utilizados para evitar la coagulación de la sangre (p. ej,. warfarina, dicumarol, fenprocumon, acenocumarol y fluindiona). 3. Cómo tomar Glufan

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Su médico le indicará la dosis diaria basándose en sus características individuales.

La dosis recomendada es de un comprimido dos veces al día. Una vez conseguido el alivio de los síntomas, la dosis puede ser reducida a un comprimido al día.

Los comprimidos deben tragarse con una cantidad suficiente de líquido.

Si toma más Glufan del que debe

Los signos y síntomas que pueden producirse en caso de sobredosis con glucosamina son dolor de cabeza, mareos, desorientación, artralgia, náuseas, vómitos, diarrea o estreñimiento. En caso de sobredosis, se debe interrumpir el tratamiento con Glufan.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Glufan

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Se han descrito los siguientes efectos adversos:

  • Frecuentes (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 10 pacientes): dolor de cabeza, somnolencia, malestar abdominal superior.
  • Poco frecuentes (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 100 pacientes): erupción cutánea, picor, enrojecimiento de la piel.
  • Frecuencia no conocida (no puede estimarse a partir de los datos disponibles): vértigo, asma o empeoramiento del asma, dolor estomacal, diarrea, náuseas/vómitos, hinchazón de la cara, lengua o garganta (angioedema, ver “Advertencias y precauciones”), urticaria, empeoramiento en el control de los niveles de glucosa en sangre en pacientes con diabetes mellitus, edema p. ej. de tobillos, piernas y pies, fallo hepático (aumento de enzimas hepáticas e ictericia).

5. Conservación de Glufan.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30º C. Conservar en el envase original.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de “CAD”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Glufan

  • El principio activo es hidrocloruro de glucosamina, que corresponde a 625 mg de glucosamina (equivalente a 750 mg de hidrocloruro de glucosamina).
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son:

Núcleo del comprimido:povidona, fosfato cálcico, celulosa microcristalina, crospovidona y estearato magnésico.

Recubrimiento:alcohol polivinílico, talco, lecitina, macrogol, dióxido de titanio (E -171), laca de aluminio FCF amarillo anaranjado S (E-110), amarillo quinoleína (E-104), óxido de hierro amarillo (E-172).
