1. Qué es GLAMIN y para qué se utiliza

Glamin proporciona nutrición parenteral directamente a su torrente sanguíneo cuando no puede comer normalmente, por ejemplo tras una operación o enfermedad. Glamin proporciona aminoácidos que su cuerpo va a convertir en proteínas (para crear y reparar músculos, órganos y otras estructuras del cuerpo).

Habitualmente se utiliza como parte de una dieta intravenosa equilibrada, junto con lípidos, carbohidratos, sales y vitaminas.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar GLAMIN

No use Glamin:

  • Si usted padece una alteración congénita rara en la que el cuerpo no puede romper (metabolizar) aminoácidos (por ejemplo, fenilcetonuria)
  • Si usted tiene insuficiencia del hígado o insuficiencia del riñón
  • Si padece de trastornos serios de la circulación de la sangre
  • Si presenta condiciones hemodinámicas inestables que pongan en peligro la vida (shock)
  • Si presenta acidosis metabólica (un estado en el que el pH de la sangre es bajo)
  • Si padece insuficiencia de oxígeno en el cuerpo
  • Si presenta una alteración conocida como hiperhidratación en la que hay demasiada agua en el

cuerpo

  • Si presenta niveles bajos de sodio (hiponatremia)
  • Si presenta niveles bajos de potasio (hipokalemia)
  • Si presenta niveles altos de ácido láctico en el cuerpo (hiperlactemia)
  • Si presenta cambios en su perfil sanguíneo
  • Si presenta líquido en los pulmones (edema pulmonar)
  • Si padece una alteración cardíaca conocida como insuficiencia cardíaca descompensada en la

Advertencias y precauciones

Niños

No se recomienda el uso de Glamin en niños.

Embarazo y lactancia

3. Cómo usar GLAMIN

Usted recibirá su medicamento mediante perfusión intravenosa (gota a gota por vía intravenosa). Su médico decidirá cuál es la dosis adecuada que debe recibir según sus necesidades.

La dosis habitual de Glamin en adultos es 7-14 ml por cada kg de peso corporal por día. Si usted presenta problemas de hígado o riñón es posible que su médico tenga que ajustar la dosis.

Uso en niños:

No se recomienda la utilización de Glamin en niños.

Si Ud. usa más Glamin del que debiera:

Es muy improbable que usted reciba más medicación de la que debiera porque este medicamento le será administrado por su médico o enfermero, quien le monitorizará durante el tratamiento. Sin embargo, si piensa que ha recibido demasiado Glamin, informe a su médico o enfermero inmediatamente.

Se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos cuando la perfusión se administra demasiado rápido:

  • náuseas y vómitos
  • sudoración
  • sofocos

5. Conservación de GLAMIN

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Su médico y farmacéutico de hospital son los responsables del correcto almacenamiento, utilización y eliminación de Glamin.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.

No utilizar este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad indicada en la etiqueta. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

La solución debe ser transparente e incolora. No administrar en caso contrario.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
