1. Qué es Ebastina Aristo y para qué se utiliza

Ebastina Aristo es un medicamento que alivia los síntomas de las reacciones alérgicas (antialérgicos/antihistamínicos).

Ebastina Aristo está indicado:

  • En el tratamiento de los síntomas de los procesos alérgicos tales como rinitis alérgica estacional o perenne asociada o no a conjuntivitis alérgica.
  • Para aliviar el picor y la formación de ronchas en urticaria de origen desconocido.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Ebastina Aristo

No tome Ebastina Aristo:

  • Si es alérgico a ebastina, mentol (ingrediente del aroma de sabor pipermint) o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Ebastina Aristo no debe utilizarse para el tratamiento de urticaria en adolescentes menores de 18 años.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Ebastina Aristo:

Se requiere cuidado especial cuando se toma ebastina:

  • Si tiene bajos niveles de potasio en sangre.
  • En caso de ciertas alteraciones en su electrocardiograma (ECG) (prolongación conocida del intervalo QTc), que pueden producirse en algunos tipos de enfermedades cardiacas
  • Si está usando de manera concomitante determinados antibióticos (antibióticos macrólidos tales como eritromicina) o medicamentos para tratar infecciones producidas por hongos (antifúngicos tales como ketoconazol, itraconazol) o antituberculosos (e.j. rifampicina).
  • Si padece insuficiencia hepática grave.

En algunos pacientes, el tratamiento prolongado con ebastina puede incrementar el riesgo de caries dental debido a sequedad en la boca. Por ello, la higiene bucal del paciente es muy importante.

Otros medicamentos y Ebastina Aristo

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando/usando, ha tomado/usado recientemente o podría tener que tomar/usar cualquier otro medicamento.

La administración concomitante de ebastina (sustancia activa de Ebastina Aristo y ciertos antibióticos (por ejemplo, eritromicina) o medicamentos utilizados en el tratamiento de infecciones producidas por hongos (por ejemplo ketoconazol o itraconazol) los niveles de ebastina en sangre pueden elevarse. En comparación con la administración de ketoconazol o eritromicina por separado, pueden producirse cambios más notables en su electrocardiograma (incremento de la prolongación del intervalo QTc en 10 mseg. aproximadamente).

La administración concomitante de ebastina con rifampicina (principio activo para el tratamiento de la tuberculosis) puede provocar una reducción de los niveles en sangre de ebastina y por lo tanto, disminuir su efecto.

No se obervaron interacciones con ebastina y

  • Teofilina (principio activo para el tratamiento del asma),
  • Warfarina (anticoagulante),
  • Cimetidina (principio activo para el tratamiento de la úlcera gástrica),
  • Diazepam (principio activo para el tratamiento de la ansiedad y el estado de tensión) o
  • Alcohol.

Toma de Ebastina Aristo con alimentos y bebidas

Cuando Ebastina Aristo se toma con alimentos, aumenta la concentración en sangre del metabolito activo de la ebastina (carebastina). Sin embargo, esto no afecta a la eficacia clínica.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Embarazo

Hasta la fecha no hay datos de seguridad en el feto humano. Por esta razón, durante el embarazo sólo debe tomar Ebastina Aristo si su médico se lo recomienda por considerar que el beneficio esperado es mayor que el posible riesgo.

Lactancia

No tome Ebastina Aristo en el periodo de lactancia ya que se desconoce si el medicamento pasa a la leche materna.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La mayoría de los pacientes tratados con Ebastina Aristo podrían conducir o llevar a cabo actividades que requieran una buena capacidad de reacción. Sin embargo, Ud. debe comprobar cómo son sus reacciones individuales a Ebastina Aristo antes de conducir o llevar a cabo actividades complicadas para poder identificar reacciones inusuales.

Ebastina Aristo comprimidos bucodispersables contieneAspartamo (E951)

Este medicamento contiene1,06 mg de aspartamo en cada comprimido.

El aspartamo contiene una fuente de fenilalanina que puede ser perjudicial en caso de padecer fenilcetonuria (FCN), una enfermedad genética rara en la que la fenilalanina se acumula debido a que el organismo no es capaz de eliminarla correctamente.

Ebastina Aristo contiene Sodio

Ebastina contiene menos de 1 mmol (23 mg) de sodio por comprimido bucodispersable; esto es, esencialmente “exento de sodio”.

3. Cómo tomar Ebastina Aristo

Pacientes con insuficiencia hepática

No se requiere ajuste posológico en pacientes con insuficiencia hepática leve a moderada. En pacientes con insuficiencia hepática grave no debe sobrepasarse la dosis de 10 mg de ebastina.

Pacientes con insuficiencia renal

En pacientes con disminución de la función renal, no es preciso ajustar la dosis para tratamientos de hasta 5 días.

Modo de uso

Ebastina Aristo puede tomarse con o sin alimentos.

Extraer el comprimido del envase justo antes de tomarlo. Con las manos secas, presionar el comprimido bucodispersable para sacarlo del blister y colocar el comprimido sobre la lengua. El comprimido se disolverá directamente en la boca y podrá tragarse fácilmente. No es necesario beber agua u otros líquidos para tomar este medicamento.

Duración del tratamiento

Su médico decidirá la duración del tratamiento

Consulte a su médico si considera que los efectos de Ebastina Aristo son demasiado fuertes o débiles.

Si toma más Ebastina Aristo del que debe

No se conoce un antidoto especial para la ebastina.

En caso de sobredosis de Ebastina Aristo consulte inmediatamente a su médico. En función de la gravedad de la intoxicación, su médico tomará las medidas oportunas (monitorización de las constantes vitales, incluyendo ECG con evaluación del intervalo QT durante al menos 24 horas, tratamiento sintomático y lavado gástrico si fuese necesario).

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Ebastina Aristo

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas. Continúe el tratamiento de forma habitual.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Ebastina Aristo

Si Ud. para o interrumpe el tratamiento antes de tiempo, es posible que reaparezcan los síntomas de su enfermedad.

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Ebastina Aristo

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Condiciones de conservación

Conservar en su envase original para proteger el medicamento de la luz.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGREde la farmacia. En caso de duda, pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse delos envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
