1. Qué es Deltius y para qué se utiliza

Deltius contiene el principio activo colecalciferol (vitamina D3). La vitamina D3, se puede encontrar en algunos alimentos y es producida por el organismo cuando la piel se expone a la luz solar. La vitamina D favorece la absorción de calcio en los riñones y el intestino ayudando a la formación del hueso. La deficiencia de vitamina D es la causa principal del raquitismo (mineralización deficiente de los huesos en niños) y la osteomalacia (mineralización inadecuada de los huesos en adultos).

Deltius se utiliza para prevenir y tratar la deficiencia de vitamina D en adultos.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Deltius

No tome Deltius:

  • si es alérgico a la vitamina D3 o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6);
  • si presenta altos niveles elevados de calcio en sangre (hipercalcemia) o en orina (hipercalciuria);
  • si tiene piedras en los riñones (cálculos renales) o insuficiencia renal grave;
  • si presenta altos niveles de vitamina D en sangre (hipervitaminosis D).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero antes de empezar a tomar Deltius, si usted:

  • está en tratamiento con algunos medicamentos indicados en enfermedades cardiacas (por ejemplo, glicósidos cardiacos, tales como digoxina).
  • padece sarcoidosis (enfermedad autoinmune que puede causar aumento de los niveles de vitamina D en el organismo).
  • está en tratamiento con diuréticos (por ejemplo, benzotiadiazina)
  • está inmovilizado
  • sufre de pseudohipoparatiroidismo
  • está en tratamiento con medicamentos que contienen vitamina D, o toma alimentos o leche enriquecidos con vitamina D.
  • es probable que vaya a estar expuesto a mucha luz solar mientras utiliza Deltius
  • toma otros suplementos que contengan calcio. Su médico deberá controlar los niveles de calcio en sangre para asegurar que no sean demasiado altos mientras dure su tratamiento con Deltius.
  • padece enfermedad o daño renal y si tiene tendencia a la formación de piedras en el riñon. Es posible que su médico quiera controlarle sus niveles de calcio en sangre y orina.

    • algunos medicamentos utilizados para perder peso mediante la reducción de la absorción de grasa corporal (por ejemplo, orlistat).;
    • algunos laxantes (como la parafina líquida).

Toma de Deltius con alimentos,bebidas y alcohol

Debería tomar Deltius preferiblemente junto con la comida para ayudar a la absorción de la vitamina D3.

Embarazo,lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Esta alta concentracion no está recomendada para el uso en mujeres embarazas y o en periodo de lactancia.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La información sobre posibles efectos de este medicamento en la capacidad para conducir es limitada. No obstante, no es esperable que afecte a la su capacidad de para conducir y utilización der máquinas se vea afectada.

3. Cómo tomar Deltius

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La cápsula debe tragarse entera (por ejemplo, con agua)

Se debe tomar Deltius preferiblemente junto con la comida.

Uso en adultos

La dosis recomendada es una cápsula de 25.000 UI a la semana durante el primer mes. Después del primer mes, se puede considerar bajar la dosis.

Altas dosis pueden se requeridas:

  • 50.000 UI/semana durante 6 – 8 semanas;

Este tratamiento inicial puede ser seguido por una terapia de mantenimiento, según las indicaciones de su médico.

Su médico ajustará la dosis para usted.

Población pediátrica

Deltius no está recomendado en niños y adolescentes menores de 18 años.

Embarazo y Lactancia

Deltius no está recomendado.

Si toma más Deltius del que debe

Si usted toma más cantidad de la prescrita, deje de tomar el medicamento y llame a su médico. Si no le es posible contactar con el médico, acuda al servicio de urgencias del hospital más cercano y lleve consigo el envase con eldel medicamento

Los síntomas más comunes por sobredosis son: náuseas, vómitos, sed excesiva, producción excesiva de orina durante unas 24 horas, estreñimiento, deshidratación y niveles elevados de calcio en sangre y orina (hipercalcemia e hipercalciuria) determinados en los análisis clínicos.

Si olvidó tomar Deltius

Si se olvida de tomar una dosis de Deltius, tome la próxima dosis olvidada lo antes posible. Posteriormente, tome la siguiente dosis a la hora habitual. No obstante, si se encuentra muy cerca de la hora de la siguiente dosis, no tome la dosis olvidada y, en su lugar, tome la siguiente dosis a la hora habitual.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

5. Conservación de Deltius

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30 °C.

Conservar en el envase original para protegerlo de la luz.

No refrigerar o congelar

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE d de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Deltius

  • El principio activo es colecalciferol (vitamina D3).

Una cápsula contiene: 0.625 mg de colecalciferol (vitamina D3) equivalente a 25.000 UI.

  • Los demás excipientes son:
