1. Qué es Delcrin y para qué se utiliza

Delcrin contiene el principio activo colecalciferol (vitamina D3). La función principal de la vitamina D es garantizar una buena absorción del calcio en los intestinos y fomentar la mineralización ósea adecuada.

Delcrin solución oral se usa para prevenir y tratar la deficiencia de vitamina D en adultos.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Delcrin

No tome Delcrin

  • Si es alérgico a la vitamina D3 o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si tiene niveles elevados de calcio en la sangre (hipercalcemia) o en la orina (hipercalciuria).
  • Si tiene piedras en los riñones (cálculos renales) o insuficiencia renal grave.
  • Si tiene niveles elevados de vitamina D3 en la sangre (hipervitaminosis D).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de emperzar a tomar este medicamento:

  • Si presenta un desajuste de la hormona paratiroidea (pseudohipoparatiroidismo).

Informe a su médico si ya está tomando otros productos que contienen vitamina D, alimentos o leche enriquecidos con vitamina D, ya que la vitamina D se acumula en el cuerpo y una sobredosis puede causar efectos tóxicos.Es por eso que no se debe exceder la dosis recomendada.

Su médico lo controlará y le realizará análisis de sangre y/u orina si:

  • tiene piedras en los riñones (cálculos renales);
  • tiene problemas renales;
  • usted es un paciente de edad avanzada y está siendo tratado con glucósidos cardíacos o diuréticos;
  • padece sarcoidosis u otras enfermedades granulomatosas.

Niños y adolescentes

No se recomienda su uso en niños y adolescentes menores de 18 años.

Otros medicamentos y Delcrin

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico que está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

El efecto de Delcrin puede verse afectado por otros medicamentos. Informe a su médico si está tomando:

  • medicamentos para tratar la epilepsia;
  • barbitúricos (utilizados durante la anestesia o como medicamento para dormir);
  • rifampicina (un antibiótico);
  • diuréticos tiazídicos (medicamentos que promueven la excreción urinaria, como la hidroclorotiazida);
  • glucocorticoides (utilizados para tratar la inflamación);
  • medicamentos que contienen digitalis (para el tratamiento de afecciones cardíacas);
  • antiácidos que contienen aluminio;
  • preparaciones que contienen magnesio;
  • medicamentos que reducen el nivel de colesterol en la sangre (como colestiramina o colestipol);
  • ciertos medicamentos para bajar de peso que reducen la cantidad de grasa que absorbe su cuerpo (por ejemplo, orlistat);
  • ciertos laxantes (como la parafina líquida);
  • actinomicina (un medicamento utilizado para tratar algunas formas de cáncer) y antifúngicos de imidazol (p. ej., clotrimazol y ketoconazol, medicamentos utilizados para tratar enfermedades fúngicas). Estos medicamentos pueden interferir con la forma en que su cuerpo procesa la vitamina D3.

Embarazo y lactancia

3. Cómo tomar Delcrin

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Agitar antes de usar.

Debe tomar Delcrin preferiblemente junto con una comida.

Este medicamento tiene un sabor a aceite de oliva. Delcrin puede tomarse solo o también puede mezclar la solución con una pequeña cantidad de alimentos fríos o templados. Asegúrese de tomar la dosis completa.

Dosis

Uso en adultos

Su médico deberá considerar dosis menores para el tratamiento inicial de la deficiencia de vitamina D clínicamente relevante. En este caso, se deben utilizar otros productos farmacéuticos disponibles.

En caso de requerir dosis superiores, la posología siguiente podrá considerarse bajo supervisión médica:

  • 50,000 UI (un envase) una vez a la semana, (hasta un máximo de 6 semanas).

Población pediátrica

Delcrin no está recomendado en niños y adolescentes menores de 18 años.

Embarazo y lactancia

Delcrin no está recomendado durante el embarazo o la lactancia.

Si toma más Delcrin del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingesta accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

En caso de sobredosis, pueden aumentar los niveles de calcio en la sangre y en la orina, cuyos síntomas son los siguientes: náuseas, vómitos, sed, polidipsia, poliuria, estreñimiento, deshidratación.

Una sobredosis durante los primeros 6 meses de embarazo puede causar efectos tóxicos en el feto; existe una correlación entre sobredosis o sensibilidad materna extrema a la vitamina D durante el embarazo y retraso en el desarrollo físico y mental en el niño, estenosis aórtica supravalvular y retinopatía. El aumento de los niveles de calcio en la sangre materna también puede provocar la supresión de la función paratiroidea en los bebés, lo que resulta en niveles reducidos de calcio en la sangre, calambres musculares y espasmos (tetania) y convulsiones.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

  • altos niveles de calcio en la sangre y la orina.

5. Conservación de Delcrin

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de “CAD”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la luz. No congelar.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Delcrin

  • El principio activo es colecalciferol (vitamina D3). 1 ml contiene: 0,25 mg de colecalciferol (equivalente a 10,000 UI). 1 gota contiene: 200 UI de colecalciferol.
  • Los demás componentes son: aceite de oliva refinado.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Solución transparente, ligeramente amarilla, inolora.

Cada envase contiene un frasco de vidrio de color ámbar de 10 ml, con una tapa de polietileno cerrado a prueba de niños. El envase contiene un frasco con gotero insertado.
