1. Qué es Cloxacilina Normon y para qué se utiliza

Cloxacilina Normon 500 mg se presenta en un vial con polvo para solución inyectable.

Cloxacilina Normon está indicado en el tratamiento de las siguientes infecciones causadas por gérmenes sensibles:

  • Infecciones de la piel y tejidos blandos.
  • Mastitis (inflamación de la glándula mamaria).
  • Infecciones osteoarticulares tales como artritis séptica (inflamación de articulaciones por infección) y osteomielitis (inflamación ósea por infección).
  • Sepsis (infección generalizada).
  • Endocarditis (inflamación de ciertas partes del corazón).
  • Meningitis (inflamación de las meninges).

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Cloxacilina Normon

Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a penicilinas u otros betalactámicos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de Cloxacilina Normon.

Advertencias y precauciones

  • Si usted tiene alergia a cefalosporinas, porque puede haber reacción alérgica cruzada.
  • En recién nacidos con ictericia (que se evidencia por color amarillo en la piel).
  • Si usted padece disfunción renal (daño en el riñón), por riesgo de neurotoxicidad (daño en el sistema nervioso).
  • Si usted tiene restringida la toma de sodio, ya que cada gramo de Cloxacilina Normon 500 mg polvo y disolvente para solución inyectable contiene 50 mg.

Este medicamento puede interferir con la determinación analítica de la concentración sérica de aspartato aminotransferasa (AST), determinación de glucosa en orina, determinación de proteínas en orina y plasma y test de Coombs.

3. Cómo usar Cloxacilina Normon

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de Cloxacilina Normon indicadas por su médico. Consulte a su médico, farmacéutico o enfermero si tiene dudas.

Cloxacilina Normon se administra por vía intravenosa o intramuscular.

Adultos y niños mayores de 12 años:la dosis recomendada en adultos es de 500 mg a 1 g cada 6-8 horas. Estas dosis son orientativas y pueden aumentarse cuando la gravedad del proceso así lo requiera.

Niños mayores de 2 años:la dosis recomendada es de 12,5-25 mg/kg de peso cada 6-8 horas.

Niños menores de 2 años:la dosis recomendada es de 6,25-12,5 mg/kg de peso cada 6 horas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Cloxacilina Normon puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran:

  • Reacciones de hipersensibilidad:alteraciones en la piel, nefritis intersticial (inflamación del riñón). Raramente se han comunicado otras reacciones como edema angioneurótico (hinchazón extensa de la cara), anafilaxia (reacción alérgica inusual o exagerada que cursa con hipotensión y espasmo bronquial que dificulta la respiración), enfermedad del suero (reacción alérgica al suero).
  • Alteraciones del tracto gastrointestinal:diarrea, náuseas y vómitos que generalmente son de carácter débil y transitorio y no obliga a suspender el tratamiento. La persistencia de diarrea debe hacer pensar en la posibilidad de colitis pseudomembranosa.
  • Alteraciones de la sangre:raramente se han comunicado casos de neutropenia (disminución del número glóbulos blancos) y disfunción plaquetaria.
  • Alteraciones del sistema nervioso central:A dosis muy altas pueden aparecer convulsiones. Alteraciones en la función hepática: Ictericia (que se evidencia por color amarillo de la piel) y hepatitis. Reacciones locales:puede darse casos de flebitis (inflamación venosa).
  • Otras reacciones adversas:candidiasis oral.

5. Conservación de Cloxacilina Normon

Mantenga este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños. Conservar en el embalaje original.

No utilice Cloxacilina Normon después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Tras la reconstitución la estabilidad físico-química del producto reconstituido con agua para preparaciones inyectables se ha demostrado hasta 6 horas a 25ºC y 72 horas a 2-8ºC. Se ha demostrado la estabilidad físico-química en uso de la solución diluida con cloruro de sodio 9 mg/ml (0,9%) para inyección o glucosa 50 mg/ml (5%) en bolsas o frascos para perfusión durante 6 horas a 25ºC o 48 horas a 2-8ºC. Desde el punto de vista microbiológico el producto debe utilizarse inmediatamente. Si no se utiliza inmediatamente, los tiempos de almacenamiento y las condiciones previas al uso son responsabilidad del usuario y normalmente no deben ser superiores a 24 horas a 2-8ºC a menos que la dilución/reconstitución haya tenido lugar en condiciones asépticas controladas y validadas.

No utilice este medicamento si observa la presencia de partículas o si la solución reconstituida está turbia.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Información para el médico

En caso de sobredosificación, llevar a cabo tratamiento sintomático y de mantenimiento. La diálisis peritoneal o la hemodiálisis no son efectivas.

Medidas de precaución en la administración parenteral

Administración intravenosa:El vial se reconstituye con 10 ml de agua para preparaciones inyectables. Inyectar lentamente durante 3-4 minutos.

Para su administración en perfusión contínua, el polvo reconstituido en 10 mL de agua para preparaciones inyectables se retirará del vial y se agregará a una bolsa de 100 mL de cloruro de sodio 9 mg/ml (0,9%) o de glucosa 50 mg/ml (5%) para perfusión en el hospital.

Administración intramuscular:El vial se reconstituye con los 3,5 ml de agua para preparaciones inyectables.

Cloxacilina sódica no debe ser utilizada en soluciones que contengan hidrolizados de proteínas, suspensiones de lípidos, aminoácidos, sangre o suero. Si es compatible con la mayoría de soluciones intravenosas usadas habitualmente (suero fisiológico o glucosado).

La mezcla de cloxacilina y aminoglucósidos puede ocasionar una substancial inactivación mutua, por lo que no se deben mezclar en el mismo envase para su administración.
