1. Qué es cinfamucol carbocisteína y para qué se utiliza

La carbocisteína, principio activo de este medicamento pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados mucolíticos, que actúan disminuyendo la viscosidad del moco, fluidificándolo y facilitando su eliminación.

Este medicamento está indicado para facilitar la eliminación del exceso de mocos y flemas, en catarros y gripes para adultos y adolescentes a partir de 12 años.

Debe consultar con su médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 5 días de tratamiento.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar cinfamucol carbocisteína

No tome cinfamucol carbocisteína

  • Si es alérgico a la carbocisteína o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar cinfamucol carbocisteína.

  • Si padece úlcera de estómago, duodeno o si tiene alguna enfermedad de tiroides.
  • Si padece asma o cualquier enfermedad respiratoria grave ya que se puede aumentar la obstrucción de las vías respiratorias.

Durante los primeros días de tratamiento podrá observar un aumento de mocos y flemas que irá disminuyendo a lo largo del tratamiento.

Niños

No administre este medicamento a niños menores de 12 años.

Otros medicamentos y cinfamucol carbocisteína

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

No tome este medicamento con medicamentos utilizados para reducir la tos no productiva (antitusivos) ni con medicamentos utilizados para disminuir las secreciones bronquiales porque puede provocar un acúmulo de moco fluidificado.

Toma de cinfamucol carbocisteína con alimentos y bebidas

Tome este medicamento preferentemente antes de las comidas. Ver apartado 3. Cómo tomar cinfamucol carbocisteína.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No se recomienda tomar este medicamento a mujeres embarazadas o en periodo de lactancia.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de carbocisteína sobre la capacidad de conducir y utilizar máquinas es nula o insignificante.

cinfamucol carbocisteína contiene amarillo anaranjado (E-110)

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones alérgicas porque contiene amarillo anaranjado (E-110). Puede provocar asma, especialmente en pacientes alérgicos al ácido acetilsalicílico.

cinfamucol carbocisteína contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo y de propilo

Puede provocar reacciones alérgicas (posiblemente retardadas) porque contiene parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (sal de sodio) (E-219) y de propilo (sal de sodio) (E-217).

3. Cómo tomar cinfamucol carbocisteína

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes a partir de 12 años: 15 ml de solución oral 3 veces al día, lo que significa un máximo diario de 45 ml de la solución oral (2,25 g de carbocisteína).

No tomar más de 2,25 g al día, repartidos en 3 tomas. Una vez que observe mejoría, puede reducir a 1,5 g en 24 horas repartidos en 2 tomas de carbocisteína).

Cómo tomar

Este medicamento se toma por vía oral.

Medir la cantidad de medicamento que tiene que tomar con el vasito dosificador contenido en el envase. Es preferible que el medicamento se tome antes de la comida.

Se recomienda beber un vaso de agua después de cada dosis y abundante líquido durante el día.

Si empeora, o si los síntomas persisten después de 5 días de tratamiento, o se produce fiebre, erupciones en la piel, dolor de cabeza persistente o dolor de garganta, debe consultar a su médico.

Uso en niños

Los niños menores de 12 años no pueden tomar este medicamento.

Si toma más cinfamucol carbocisteína del que debe

Si ha tomado usted más cinfamucol carbocisteínade lo que debe, puede notar dolor de estómago, náuseas y diarreas, picor y erupciones en la piel.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar cinfamucol carbocisteína

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Durante el periodo de utilización de la carbocisteína se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos cuya frecuencia no se ha podido establecer con exactitud.

En raras ocasiones pueden aparecer náuseas, malestar gástrico o diarreas, que suelen desaparecer al disminuir la dosis.

Raramente se han observado otras reacciones como sangrado en el estómago o en el intestino, dolor de cabeza, picor, erupciones cutáneas y angioedema (hinchazón de determinados zonas de la piel).

En estos casos, se aconseja interrumpir el tratamiento y consultar al médico.

5. Conservación de cinfamucol carbocisteína

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30ºC.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda, pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de cinfamucol carbocisteína

  • Cada ml de solución contiene 50 mg de carbocisteína como principio activo.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: maltitol líquido (E-965), hidróxido de sodio (E-524), citrato de sodio (E-331), propilenglicol (E-1520), hidroxietilcelulosa, ácido cítrico monohidrato, parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (sal de sodio) (E-219), sacarina sódica, aroma de naranja (preparados aromatizantes, sustancias aromatizantes, sustancias aromatizantes naturales, maltodextrina de maíz, goma arábiga (E-414), ácido ascórbico (E-300) y hidroxianisol butilado (BHA) (E-320)), parahidroxibenzoato de propilo (sal de sodio) (E-217), amarillo anaranjado (E-110) y agua purificada.
