1. Qué es CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA y para qué se utiliza

El carbón activado, principio activo de este medicamento, actúa como:

  • Antidiarreico: inactivando toxinas y microorganismos en el tracto digestivo, mediante un proceso físico de adsorción.
  • Antiflatulento: aliviando los síntomas de los gases. El carbón activado actúa adsorbiendo partículas de gas y sustancias debidas a las fermentaciones que causan distensión abdominal y flatulencia.

CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA está indicado en el tratamiento sintomático de:

  • Diarrea ocasional
  • Alivio sintomático de los gases (aerofagia, meteorismo, flatulencia).

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA

No tome CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA

  • Si es alérgico al principio activo o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento,

incluidos en la sección 6.1.

  • Si se encuentra en una situación que presenta ausencia de ruidos intestinales, perforación intestinal, le han practicado una cirugía digestiva recientemente o tiene riesgo de hemorragia de estómago o intestino.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su farmacéutico, médico o enfermero antes de empezar a tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA.

  • Puede modificar la motilidad intestinal (movimientos del intestino).
  • No administrar al mismo tiempo que otros medicamentos para evitar la pérdida de absorción de los mismos o la anulación recíproca de la acción (dejar transcurrir al menos 2 horas).
  • No se aconseja el uso prolongado ya que puede disminuir la absorción de algunos nutrientes.

Informe a su farmacéutico o médico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o pudiera tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

El carbón activado interfiere en la acción de otros medicamentos que se tomen por vía oral, por lo que se recomienda tomarlos 2 horas antes o 4-6 horas después de tomar este medicamento.

Embarazo y lactancia:

El carbón activado no se absorbe por lo que no llega a alcanzar la placenta ni la leche materna.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su farmacéutico o médico. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico o médico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y adolescentes mayores de 12 años: 2 cápsulas, 3 ó 4 veces al día, si es necesario.

Niños menores de 12 años: consultar con el médico.

Mayores de 65 años: consultar con el médico.

CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA se toma por vía oral.

Las cápsulas se administran al menos media hora después de finalizar las comidas o a la manifestación de los síntomas.

Las cápsulas deben tragarse con ayuda de un poco de agua. No utilizar otras bebidas como café, té, vino etc., ni helados o sorbetes que reducen la acción del medicamento.

Si los síntomas empeoran o persisten después de 2 días de tratamiento o tiene fiebre alta debe consultar al médico.

Uso en niños

No se recomienda la administración de este medicamento a niños menores de 12 años, sin consultar a su farmacéutico o médico.

Si toma más CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA del que debe

El carbón activado es muy bien tolerado por vía oral, por lo que no debe producirse intoxicación por esta vía.

Su uso durante largos periodos de tiempo y su administración a dosis altas, pueden disminuir la absorción de enzimas, vitaminas y minerales lo que puede provocar una malnutrición.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica teléfono 915620420, indicando el producto y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA

Si olvidó tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA y los síntomas continúan, no tome una dosis doble para compensar la dosis olvidada. Si es necesario, vuelva a tomar el medicamento de la misma forma que se indica en el apartado 3. Cómo tomar CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA.

5. Conservación de CARBÓN VEGETAL ARKOPHARMA

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Mantener el envase correctamente cerrado.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase, después de “CAD”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto Sigre de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico como deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Cada cápsula contiene 225 mg de carbón activado como principio activo. Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: hipromelosa y estearato de magnesio.
