Do not take Calcio D Isdin:

  • If you are allergic to calcium carbonate, vitamin D3, or any of the other components of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • If you have kidney stones.
  • If you have severe kidney failure.

The recommended dose is 1 to 2 tablets per day.

The following side effects have been observed:

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people): constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

In case of prolonged administration at high doses, high levels of calcium in the blood and urine may appear, with symptoms such as loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, headache, weakness, apathy, and somnolence. Other more serious symptoms are thirst, dehydration, increased urination frequency, abdominal pain, and irregular heartbeat.
