1. Qué es Bepanmed y para qué se utiliza

Bepanmed 500 mg/2 ml solución inyectable contiene como sustancia activa dexpantenol, semejante a una vitamina del grupo B, el ácido pantoténico.

Bepanmed está indicado en estados de deficiencia de ácido pantoténico, que puedan producir casos como los siguientes: Pérdida del tono de la musculatura intestinal (atonía intestinal) causada tras una operación o por oclusión del intestino (íleo paralítico); y en caso de Síndrome de los pies quemantes (“burning feet”) causado por una deficiencia de vitamina B5, ácido pantoténico.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Bepanmed

No use Bepanmed:

  • si es alérgico al dexpantenol o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • si padece obstrucción del intestino de causa mecánica.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Bepanmed.

  • Si padece hemofilia debe usarse este medicamento con mucha precaución porque puede prolongar el tiempo de sangrado.
  • Deben controlarle los síntomas de su trastorno para observar su evolución.

Niños

No administrar Bepanmed en niños menores de 18 años, por no disponerse de datos en ellos.

Otros medicamentos y Bepanmed

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o pudiera tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Los pacientes en tratamiento con succinilcolina (suxametonio cloruro) no deben usar dexpantenol (este medicamento) en una hora tras la administración de succinilcolina, por posible prolongación del efecto relajante muscular.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Embarazo

Como medida de precaución es preferible no utilizar Bepanmed durante el embarazo.

Lactancia

No se puede excluir el riesgo en recién nacidos/niños ya que se desconoce si dexpantenol pasa a la leche materna.

El médico deberá decidir si es necesario interrumpir la lactancia o interrumpir el tratamiento tras considerar el beneficio de la lactancia para el niño y el beneficio del tratamiento para la madre.

Fertilidad

Debido a la falta de datos, no se puede determinar si dexpantenol puede interferir con la fertilidad.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de este medicamento sobre la capacidad de conducir y utilizar máquinas es nula o insignificante.

3. Cómo usar Bepanmed

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Adultos mayores de 18 años:

La dosis recomendada en atonía intestinal postoperatoria es:

  • Prevención: entre media ampolla (250 mg) hasta 2 ampollas (1000 mg dexpantenol) por vía intravenosa o intramuscular durante o después de la cirugía.
  • Tratamiento: la misma dosis que en prevención por vía intravenosa o intramuscular, cada 6 h si es necesario.

La dosis recomendada en Síndrome de los pies quemantes (“burning feet”) es:

  • entre media y 1 ampolla (250-500 mg dexpantenol) al día, por vía intramuscular (o intravenosa) durante 2-3 semanas.

Si usa más Bepanmed del que debe

No se conocen casos de trastornos en hipervitaminosis; Bepanmed es bien tolerado incluso en dosis altas.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o acuda a un centro médico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Se ha informado de la aparición de las siguientes reacciones adversas:

  • Reacciones alérgicas de la piel como dermatitis de contacto, dermatitis alérgica, picor, hormigueo, eritema, erupción, urticaria, piel irritada y ampollas en la piel.
  • Se ha informado de algún caso de alteraciones digestivas, como vómitos y diarrea.
  • Reacciones en el sitio de inyección e infusión.

5. Conservación de Bepanmed

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto Sigre de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Bepanmed solución inyectable

  • El principio activo es dexpantenol. Cada ampolla de 2 ml contiene 500 mg de dexpantenol.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: DL-lactona, nitrógeno y agua para preparaciones inyectables.

Bepanmed es una solución inyectable, líquido de incoloro a amarillento, que se presenta en ampollas de 2 ml (de vidrio).

Cada caja contiene 3 ó 6 ampollas.
