1. Qué es Benferol mensual y para qué se utiliza

Este medicamento contiene vitamina D3 que regula la captación y el metabolismo del calcio, así como la incorporación de calcio al tejido óseo.

Benferol mensual se utiliza para prevenir y tratar el déficit de vitamina D3 en adultos y adolescentes (niños ≥ 12 años de edad).

Su médico le puede prescribir este medicamento como complemento a la medicación específica de la pérdida ósea. Consulte con su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas adicionales, y siga siempre sus instrucciones.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Benferol mensual

No tome Benferol mensual:

  • si es alérgico al colecalciferol o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • si padece hipercalcemia (niveles aumentados de calcio en sangre) o hipercalciuria (niveles aumentados de calcio en orina)).
  • si sufre hipervitaminosis D (niveles aumentados de vitamina D en sangre).
  • si tiene piedras en el riñón.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte con su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar este medicamento:

Niños

Toma de Benferol mensual con otros medicamentos

Comunique a su médico o farmacéutico que está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o podría tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento, en particular:

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Durante el embarazo, la toma diaria de vitamina D no debesuperar 600 UI.

Benferol mensual solo se usará durante el embarazo, si el déficit de vitamina D se ha diagnosticado clínicamente.

Este medicamento se puede usar durante la lactancia. La vitamina D3 pasa a la leche materna. Esto se deberá tener en consideración cuando se administre vitamina D adicional al lactante.

No existen datos acerca de los efectos de la vitamina D3 sobre la fertilidad. Sin embargo, no está previsto que unos niveles normales de vitamina D normal tengan efectos adversos en la fertilidad.

3. Cómo tomar Benferol mensual

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración indicadas por su médico. En caso de dudas, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Las cápsulas deben tragarse enteras con agua.

Debe tomar este medicamento preferentemente con una comida abundante para que su cuerpo absorba la vitamina D3.

Adultos y adolescentes

La dosis recomendada es de una cápsula de 25.000 IU al mes.

Para el déficit de vitamina D se puede ajustar la dosis en función de los niveles de vitamina D en la sangre (niveles 25(OH)D).

Para el tratamiento del déficit de vitamina D sintomático, la dosis recomendada es de una cápsula de 100.000 UI o dos cápsulas de 50.000 UI en 1 semana. Puede considerarse una dosis de mantenimiento de 25.000 UI al mes.

Uso en niños

Este medicamento no está destinado para el uso en niños menores de 12 años. Existen otras presentaciones de este medicamento pueden ser más adecuadas para niños; pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si toma más Benferol mensual del que debe

Si ha tomado mayor cantidad de este medicamento que la recetada, o si accidentalmente un niño ha tomado este medicamento, póngase en contacto con su médico o con urgencias para evaluar el riesgo existente o llame al servicio de información toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20 indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada.y lleve consigo el envase con el medicamento. Se recomienda llevar el envase y el prospecto del medicamento al profesional sanitario..

Los síntomas más frecuentes de sobredosis son: náuseas, vómitos, sed excesiva, la producción de grandes cantidades de orina durante 24 horas, estreñimiento y deshidratación, cantidades elevadas de calcio en la sangre (hipercalcemia e hipercalciuria) que se detectan en análisis de laboratorio.

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Benferol mensual

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase o blíster después de la abreviatura CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a una temperatura superior a 30°C. Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la luz.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Benferol mensual

El principio activo es colecalciferol (vitamina D3). Cada cápsula blanda contiene 0,625 mg de colecalciferol que corresponde a 25.000 UI de vitamina D3.

Los demás componentes son: todo-rac-α-tocoferol (E307), triglicéridos de cadena media, glicerol, gelatina, tinta de impresión de color blanco Opacode (laca (E904), dióxido de titanio (E171) y simeticona) y rojo Allura AC (E129).
