1. Qué es BARACLUDE y para qué se utiliza

Baracludesolución orales un medicamento antiviral que se utiliza para tratar la infección crónica (largo plazo) por el virus de la hepatitis B (VHB) en adultos.Baraclude puede ser utilizado en pacientes cuyo hígado está dañado pero todavía funciona adecuadamente (enfermedad hepática compensada) y en pacientes cuyo hígado está dañado y no funciona adecuadamente (enfermedad hepática descompensada).

Baracludesolución oralse utiliza también para tratar la infección crónica (largo plazo) por el VHB en niños y adolescentes de2a menos de 18años.Baraclude puede ser utilizado en niños cuyo hígado está dañado pero todavía funciona adecuadamente (enfermedad hepática compensada).

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar BARACLUDE

No tome Baraclude

  • si es alérgico (hipersensible)a entecavir o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Niños y adolescentes

Baraclude no se debe usar en niños menores de 2 años de edad o que pesen menos de 10 kg.

Toma de Baraclude con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o podría tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Toma de Baraclude con alimentos y bebidas

En la mayoría de los casos, puede tomar Baraclude con o sin alimentos. Sin embargo, si ha recibido un tratamiento previo con otro medicamento que contenga lamivudina como principio activo, debe considerar lo siguiente. Si ha cambiado a Baraclude porque el tratamiento con lamivudina no tuvo éxito, debe tomar Baraclude con el estómago vacío, una vez al día. Si su enfermedad hepática está muy avanzada, su médico también le instruirá sobre la toma de Baraclude con el estómago vacío. Estómago vacío significa como mínimo 2 horas después y 2 horas antes de la próxima comida.

Los niños y adolescentes (de 2 a menos de 18 años de edad) pueden tomar Baraclude con o sin alimentos.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Informe a su médico si está embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada. No se ha demostrado que el uso de Baraclude sea seguro durante el embarazo. No debe utilizarse Baraclude durante el embarazo a excepción de que sea claramente necesario, según su médico. Es importante que las mujeres en edad fértil que están en tratamiento con Baraclude utilicen un método anticonceptivo eficaz para evitar quedarse embarazadas.

No debe dar el pecho durante el tratamiento con Baraclude. Si lo está haciendo, comuníqueselo a su médico. Se desconoce si entecavir, el principio activo de Baraclude, se excreta en la leche materna.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo tomar BARACLUDE

No todos los pacientes necesitan tomar la misma dosis de Baraclude.

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Para adultosla dosis recomendada es 0,5 mg (10 ml) o 1 mg (20 ml) una vez al día (por vía oral).

Su dosis dependerá de:

  • si ya ha sido tratado de una infección por el VHB anteriormente, así como del medicamento que haya recibido.
  • si tiene problemas de riñón. Su médico puede recetarle una dosis más baja o indicarle que lo tome con menor frecuencia que una vez al día.
  • el estado de su hígado.

Para niños y adolescentes(de 2 a menos de 18 años de edad), su pediatra decidirá la dosis apropiada en base al peso corporal del niño. La dosis correcta de Baraclude solución oral para niños y adolescentes se calcula por peso corporal y se toma una vez al día (por vía oral) como se muestra a continuación:

No existen recomendaciones de dosis de Baraclude en niños menores de 2 años de edad o que pesen menos de 10 kg.

Su médico le aconsejará sobre qué dosis es la correcta para usted. Tome siempre la dosis recomendada por su médico para asegurarse de que el medicamento es totalmente efectivo y para reducir el desarrollo de resistencia al tratamiento. Tome Baraclude durante todo el tiempo que le haya indicado su médico. Su médico le dirá cuándo debe interrumpir el tratamiento.

Baraclude solución oral está concebida para uso directo. No diluir ni mezclar esta solución con agua u otros líquidos.

Baraclude solución oral viene acompañada de una cucharilla de medida con marcas desde 0,5 a 10 ml. La cucharilla se utiliza de la siguiente forma:

  1. Sostener la cucharilla en posición vertical (derecha) y llenarla gradualmente hasta la marca correspondiente a la dosis indicada por su médico. Colocando la cucharilla con las marcas del volumen a la altura de los ojos, controlar que se ha llenado hasta la marca adecuada.
  1. Tragar el medicamento directamente de la cucharilla de medida.
  1. Después de cada uso, enjuagar la cucharilla con agua y dejarla secar al aire.

Si toma más Baraclude del que debe

Si olvidó tomar Baraclude

Es importante que no olvide ninguna dosis. Si olvida una dosis de Baraclude, debe tomarla enseguida y después tomar la siguiente dosis prevista a la hora habitual. Si ya es casi la hora de su siguiente dosis, no tome la dosis que olvidó. Espere y tome la dosis siguiente a la hora habitual. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

No interrumpa el tratamiento con Baraclude sin consultar a su médico

Algunas personas desarrollan síntomas de hepatitis muy graves al dejar de tomar Baraclude. Informe a su médico inmediatamente de cualquier cambio en los síntomas que observe después de interrumpir el tratamiento.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Los pacientes tratados con Baraclude han notificado los siguientes efectos adversos:

Adultos

  • frecuentes (por lo menos 1 por cada 100 pacientes): dolor de cabeza, insomnio (incapacidad para dormir), fatiga (cansancio extremo), mareos, somnolencia (adormecimiento), vómitos, diarrea, náuseas, dispepsia (indigestión) e incremento de los niveles de enzimas hepáticas en sangre.
  • poco frecuentes (por lo menos 1 por cada 1.000 pacientes): erupción cutánea, pérdida de cabello.
  • raros (por lo menos 1 por cada 10.000 pacientes): reacción alérgica grave.

Niños y adolescentes

5. Conservación de BARACLUDE

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30°C. Mantener el frasco en el embalaje original para

protegerlo de la luz.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Baraclude

  • El principio activo es entecavir. Cada ml de solución oral contiene 0,05 mg de entecavir.
  • Los demás componentes son: ácido cítrico anhidro, maltitol (E965),metilhidroxibenzoato (E218), propilhidroxibenzoato (E216), saborizante naranja (acacia y saborizantes naturales), citrato sódico, hidróxido sódico, ácido clorhídrico y agua purificada

La solución oral es clara, incolora a ligeramente amarillenta. Baraclude 0,05 mg/ml solución oral se suministra en un frasco que contiene 210 ml de solución oral. Cada cartón incluye una cucharilla de medida (de polipropileno) con marcas desde 0,5 a 10 ml.
