1. Qué es AZYDROP y para qué se utiliza

AZYDROP contiene azitromicina, un antibiótico que pertenece a la clase de los macrólidos.

AZYDROP se utiliza para el tratamiento local de ciertas infecciones oculares de origen bacteriano en adultos (inclusive en pacientes de edad avanzada) y en niños desde el nacimiento hasta los 17 años de edad.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Usted puede tener visión borrosa pasajera después de la administración ocular del producto. Espere hasta que recupere la visión normal antes de conducir un vehículo o utilizar cualquier máquina.

3. Cómo usar AZYDROP

Este medicamento está destinado a ser administrado en el ojo (uso ocular).

Siempre utilice este medicamentoexactamente como su médico o el médico que trata a su hijo le haya indicado. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o el médico que trata a su hijo o su farmacéutico.

Posología

La dosis recomendada para adultos (inclusive pacientes de edad avanzada) y niños desde el nacimiento hasta los 17 años de edad es una gota en el/los ojo(s) a ser tratado(s) dos veces al día: una gota por la mañana y una gota por la tarde.

La duración del tratamiento es de tres días.

Debido a la acción prolongada del producto,es innecesario prolongar el tratamiento más allá detres días, incluso si usted tiene signos residuales de la infección bacteriana.

Método de administración

Para una administración adecuada de Azydrop:

  • lave sus manos cuidadosamente antes y después de usar el producto,
  • aplique una gota en el ojo a ser tratado mientras se mira hacia arriba y se tira con suavidad del párpado inferior hacia abajo,
  • evite tocar el ojo y los párpados con la punta del gotero del envase unidosis,
  • desechar el envase unidosis después de su utilización. No lo guarde para utilizarlo otra vez.

NO INYECTAR, NO INGERIR

Si olvidó usar AZYDROP

No utilice una dosis doble para compensar la dosis olvidada.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con AZYDROP

Siempre consulte a su médico si usted está considerando interrumpir le tratamiento.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Azydrop puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Informe inmediatamente a su médico si experimenta cualquiera de los síntomas descritos a continuación después de tomar este medicamento ya que pueden ser graves.

Poco frecuentes: pueden afectar a 1 de 100 personas:

  • Reacción alérgica grave que causa inflamación de la cara o garganta (angioedema).

No conocida: la frecuencia no puede estimarse a partir de los datos disponibles

  • reacciones adversas cutáneas graves: sarpullido, erupción cutánea, ampollas en la piel, boca, ojos y genitales (Síndrome de Stevens-Johnson (SSJ) o Necrólisis Epidérmica Tóxica (NET)), sarpullido acompañado de otros síntomas como fiebre, inflamación de las glándulas y un aumento de los eosinófilos (un tipo de glóbulos blancos), erupción con aspecto de pequeñas manchas rojas asociadas a picor (reacción medicamentosa con eosinofília y síntomas sistémicos (DRESS)), eritema generalizado con descamación por amplias zonas del cuerpo (dermatitis exfoliativa), erupción cutánea que se caracteriza por la rápida aparición de zonas de piel roja salpicadas de pequeñas pústulas (pequeñas ampollas llenas de un líquido blanco/amarillo) (Pustulosis exantemática aguda generalizada (PEAG)).

Deje de tomar azitromicina si desarrolla estos síntomas y contacte con su médico o busque atención médica inmediatamente.

Poco frecuentes: pueden afectar a 1 de 100 personas:

  • Reacción alérgica (hipersensibilidad),
  • Inflamación de la conjuntiva (puede ser debida a infección o alergia) (conjuntivitis),
  • Inflamación alérgica de la conjuntiva (conjuntivitis alérgica),
  • Inflamación de la córnea (queratitis),
  • Picor en los párpados (eczema palpebral),
  • Piel seca, roja, hinchazón de los párpados (edema palpebral),

5. Conservación de AZYDROP

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilizar este medicamentodespués de la fecha de caducidad indicada en la caja y en el envase unidosis. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

  • No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.
  • Mantener los envasesunidosis en el sobrepara protegerlos de la luz.

Desechar el envase unidosis con cualquier resto de solución inmediatamente después de su primera utilización. No guardarlo para usar otra vez.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Azydrop

  • La sustancia activa es azitromicina dihidrato. Cada gramo de solución contiene 15 mg de azitromicina dihidrato equivalentes a 14,3 mg de azitromicina . Un envase unidosis con 250 mg de solución contiene 3,75 mg de azitromicina dihidrato.
  • Los demás componentes son triglicéridos de cadena media.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Azydrop es una solución para uso ocular (colirio en solución) que se presenta en envases unidosis, que contienen 0,25 g de producto. Es un líquido oleoso, transparente, incoloro o ligeramente amarillo.

La caja contiene seis envases unidosis en un sobre, que son suficientes para un tratamiento.
